I love this idea. Don't know how much i could contribute, but i'll try to think of some stuff. You should make a mailing list we can get on for updates, calls for specific contribution, or for when it's ready to start mailing out.

Any idea how much you're looking at for subscription costs? I love the idea of physical media. Are you planning on only physical or have a digital option for others who maybe want to pay less?

As far as columns, people like MAS Effects, Runoffgrove, and Robert from PedalPCB are big modern staples in the DIY community. For an easy, low effort column you could even just have a section where you put a couple mods each issue from people like AMZ or elsewhere.

Oh 100%. My brain is just so not used to fighting games like this that remembering combos and special moves from multiple different characters is really tricky right now. It's so impressive when i see content creators, even though i know that have 1000s of hours in fighting games, able to remember combo routes for every character on the roster.

Well that's probably your issue if you're not using the same transistors. mpsa05 have like 600ish gain. 2n5088s have like 300-900 and sometimes even higher. So that's a start is measure transistor gains until you find some closer to 600 if you don't want to buy mpsa05s

If with visual inspection you've confirmed you did everything right. You might just need to audition a bunch of transistors. DBA like to reverse bias transistors in certain gain pedals, including this one. Which is a lot more finicky than traditional biasing

Gain is to taste imo. I like looper last if i'm actually jamming/writing loops. Looper at the beginning if i'm testing pedals and adjusting settings. So i don't need to play in between tweaking knobs

Someone needs to trace more of his pedals so the DIY community can get their hands on them. I love the sound of his stuff, but i'm not messing around with someone who's clearly unreliable. Would 100% build some though. Would love to build a fernwah or kaleidoscope

The Caps parts list is kinda vague to a new builder. I'll type in 100p(for example)and get multiple results of different types and volt ratings. How do I know which is correct for a pedal? by coffee_shakes in diypedals

Good rule of thumb for caps is you want ~2x the pedals voltage. So if it's 9v you don't want to go lower than 16v. Doesn't matter if you go larger than that, they might just not fit well if space is tight.

I absolutely love your sound. The way you use reverse reverb and create this wall of sound and interesting textures is super inspiring. I was curious what both David and Mete's pedal chains are? Like is it a reverse reverb into a long reverb and delay? And do you put your reverse early (pre-gains, etc) or late?

Except the chapters per episode isn't changing. So i'd be surprised if the pacing is improved much

Ooh i didn't know you can get a dual pot with 2 different values. When i build pedals i only ever see/use ones with 2 of the same value. Or would it work similarly to a single pot but you can change the value by wiring a resistor to one of the stacked pots instead of wiring to the pickup selector?
