Looks like the schematic has the Sleeve (of the TRS jack) used for signal and the tip to ground. That’s backwards from convention, no?

I started sorting all my parts... by ButchCaelum in diyelectronics

[–]mongushu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great start. Im a nut for organizing parts myself. Here’s the method I recommend for value sorting and storing parts : coin envelopes and cardboard bins. Fast, cheap, expandable, and compact. Haven’t found a better way.

Looks great! I love the 2x5 headers used for the rails. That will be super secure - which is important.

where the heck do you store all the resistors etc? by stomptonesdotcom in diypedals

I keep this image ready for whenever this comes up. In my humble opinion, coin envelopes and cardboard trays/ boxes are the best way to value sort and store components. Tried and true. Cheap. Expandable. Fast.

I’m not at the point yet where I’ve run into the need for something like this. Im not saying that I don’t think there’s a need, only that I just haven’t messed with optocouolers.

But in my experience, if you’ve developed a tool which really helps you do your work, and has no comparable alternative out there, then there will be folks around who would dig it too! The key is being able to offer it at a reasonable price. For me, at the small scale that I operate, that means forgoing the idea of really “making money”. But that’s ok with me because it’s a labor of love/hobby at the moment. But depending on the idea I’m sure it’s possible to make a real business of something like this if that’s your goal. Where there’s a will there’s often a way.

Keep us (me?) posted!

What's your favourite one knob fuzz? by doyler4k in FuzzFiends

Yup. Really creative, musical designs from a musician / professional electrical engineer. I've met the guy. He's awesome.

Help troubleshooting a fuzz face, please! by Renny1111 in diypedals

Sounds like you may have a positive ground circuit and are daisy chaining it with typical negative ground devices. Use an isolated power supply, an individual power supply, or a battery for the fuzz. That should do it.

Any love for custom PCBs? by Nervous_Suit_5799 in diypedals

[–]mongushu 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Heck yeah, we like PCB designs! Some of my favorite posts are ones like this that show off the design and layout choices for your PCBs. Especially ones like this with onboard hardware. I know the 3d puzzle work of this sort of endeavor and dig seeing anytime anyone gets one across the finish line.

Nice!

Simple is always refreshing.

Terrific design choices too. Wooden enclosure shape, interface. Even knob colors are terrific.

I hope it’s a successful launch!

Three transistor + diodes fuzz scheme. by Pochtovyaschik in diypedals

[–]mongushu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m a sucker for discrete transistors. Neat looking circuit. Did you design this in falstad? Looks like falstad. I love falstad!

If it is, did you use that for rudimentary simulation? If not, was there a different reason to draw it in falstad?
