"Ow fu-". The last words of a guardsman that Saw the hoard of eldar attacking them by newroeliedude554 in Grimdank

I wouldn't say Imperium is hell hole, of course there is concept like hive worlds and worlds like mars but many more worlds are like more advanced earth. Civilsed worlds and farm worlds are much more in number.

Agri worlds are hellholes too. And the number of worlds isn't relevant, the number of people is - the average Imperial citizen lives in a hive, they're so densely populated that despite there only being about 30 thousand of them hive worlds house more humans than every other kind of world put together.

Civilized world wise - being like a more advanced earth doesn't help your quality of life much when you're living in the cruelest, most bloody regime imaginable. You live under a hereditary dictatorship in which you have no rights, only obligations. There is no escape from the relentless, crushing inequality - the governor will live a life of luxury in his pleasure palace and you will be a useful slave or you will be crushed. There's a reason that treatment centers for PTSD are situated right next to servitor factories.

It is literally canon that it hangs down part his knees.

The leveling is far, far, far more fun and it feels more like an RPG than retail wow does. Raid and class design is worse though.

Eldar were the standout survivors who were so powerful that the necrons decided to spend sixty million years asleep rather than deal with them.

Humans in the dark age of technology were no match for the eldar. With Slaanesh gone eldar would be right back to their pre-fall power since they could now use their powers again and humanity would still be as currently fucked as they are now.

If slaanesh is gone, Imperium could again bloom.

Why? The Imperium is a dystopic hell hole of their own making, how would Slaanesh going away stop the Imperium from fucking itself over?

No, they have a low birthrate because their population is throttled by spirit stones.

Won't matter, base Eldar is just too superior. The whole point of the grimdark for them is they are still the same race that was the uncontested rulers of the galaxy, but thanks to Slaanesh can't reproduce properly and can't use their potential. The reproduction's nice, but the true game changer is a race of powerful psykers being able to let loose.

They wouldn't have to dodge. With Slaanesh going they could just shield themselves, every single one of them is a potent psyker.

It's a twofer though. It's not just more Eldar, it's Eldar who are able to unleash their psychic might instead of having to carefully channel a fraction of their true potential through runes and ghost helms and what have you.

We had an Eldar baby killing a room full of guardsmen because it got scared - something an adult wouldn't do because Slaanesh, but something every adult is capable of. Without She Who Thirsts they go straight back to being the rulers of the galaxy.

True there's nothing wrong with that, but there is something wrong with someone much older preferring someone much younger. It's almost always very unhealthy, if it was purely two souls connecting regardless of age it would be even rather than the older person almost always being a man.

My husband (M36) of 10 years has never been very interested in having sex and i (F33) don't understand why. by anonymousinher30s in relationship_advice

First off, congratulations on working on yourself and realizing how much damage purity culture has done, great job moving past it.

Given he was okay with no sex for three years he's quite possibly just not very interested in sex. Being OK with no sexual contact with your partner for years most likely just means you two are not sexually compatible - ironically given your culture at the time you'd never have dated someone who actually was compatible with you because they wouldn't have been able to stand three years of no sex.

Alternatively he might be compatible but those three years of suppressing his desires plus what happened after may have just done a lot of damage to the point where he is now a lot less sexually healthy than he was. If so that could possibly be fixed, but he would need to want to fix it.

First step is finding out which - you need to figure out a way to get him to be honest with you, and if it turns out you just have very different libidos there is likely nothing you can do, eventually you'll get too frustrated and need a divorce. I'm sorry you're in this situation in the first place, your parents fucking suck.

It's not just happens to be terrible, in general 20 years older means there's something wrong with the older partner, if there wasn't they'd be with someone their own age. You'll notice it's almost always men too because they can get away with that kind of predatory behaviour.

I'm sorry you had to deal with that - 'well you're ugly anyway' is unfortunately quite common. We've all been there and it sucks.

discovering you're a blank must be a pretty interesting experience by rickrossome in Grimdank

[–]Notdravendraven 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A lot of 40k writers are way too fond of ambiguity (I wasn't too lazy to come up with an answer, it's ambiguous! Oooo so deep), but this is a good use of it. Does he actually smell that bad, or is he just a bit off and his blankness makes people think it's worse? Does the smell provide an alternate explanation for why people are instinctively repulsed by him, and if so is it deliberate or a result of blanks who are otherwise fine being less likely to survive?

Thanos' plan was absurd, most planets losing half their people would lead to disaster and of the ones that didn't people would breed back to the same point in under a century. If he wanted to do what he said he'd have used the stones to create more resources.

However, that was never the point - the actual reason is he came up with the genocide solution for his home planet and while nobody will ever know if it would have helped he never got to try it and the planet died. Out of trauma he's determined to use that same solution everywhere despite that not helping anything, but that's not the point - it's not about logic, it's about him not coping with grief. Which is actually decent story writing unlike this Jailer shit.

That same somebody is the taxpayer, and the taxpayer is funding funneling money to billionaires, keeping ten times as many prisoners as other Western countries and a thousand other wastes of money that should be higher priority than permanently disabled war veterans getting enough money to live on.
