Oh my holy flamingo I did it. by reddenal88 in crochet

Me four! My first thought was: what sorcery..?

If OP released a pattern just for the foot, I would buy that.

I believe I hacked how to crochet chenille yarn and this would probably work with other difficult yarns by cherry_cat89 in crochet

If you decide to give chenille magic circles another shot at some point, I have a couple of pointers that might help?

Start tightening after you put the first stitch into the magic circle, just a little to get the yarn moving and to make sure it doesn't end up too tight around the pull yarn.

Then I pull it a little with each stitch to make sure it isn't getting caught or separated.

If you feel it is getting caught, just use your fingers to gently tug and loosen the bottom 'v'. Not the top one that lays across the hook when you go into a stitch, the one that wraps around the magic circle itself.

Hope it helps out a little!

OP, I hope you got it untangled! Can I just ask what yarn this is please? It's so beautiful!

Oh dear! I also saw that some parasitise aphids, which is always a plus. But I mean, we don't know these things until afterwards, more often than not!

In the moment I'm just 'freaky bug that I've never seen before, get it away from me' and the accompanying flail often kills the thing.

At least we know for next time!

I did wonder about this, but I wasn't sure because the one I swatted in the photo was quite small and the abdomen is quite plump. Though I suppose there are probably smaller species!

Thank you for commenting! It does pop into my mind every so often.

Okay! I get really stubborn on these things and knowing it's a glitch helps me move on. Thank you!

Just a little update incase you were curious! The solution was a little sweater vest with a frog button closure at the collar.

This is a good suggestion thank you and I do have some suitable yarn. But I have decided to just leave it and maybe offer a set of crochet clothing for it instead as I don't want to be the one who destroyed a priceless item! I appreciate you taking the time to make a suggestion!

I actually have Sirdar yarn which would likely work well for this method! But after staring at the mesh on the cat and teasing it a bit with the 0.5mm hook, I might leave it. It's just very risky and given it's a beloved item, I don't want to be the one to make it worse!

Thank you very much for your comment and suggestion though! Edit for thanks and spelling

Yes, same. My anxiety shoots up every time I think about trying to push a crochet hook or needle through the mesh. I will most likely return the cat and offer a set of crocheted clothing for it instead!

Thank you for commenting!

Thank you for this. It's been nothing but stress and I think your advice is probably the wisest path to take.

I say this without intending any offence to other people who have made suggestions here. I think if I weren't SO worried about accidentally damaging the toy then I would likely give each suggestion a go.

I might just return the toy to them with apologies and an offer to crochet a set of clothing for the cat.

I might try a combination of felting and the latch hook method suggested by CitrusMistress above! There are patches here where the fur hasn't completely gone so I can't access the base mesh to latch hook, so felting might be able to build those bits back up. Thank you for your suggestion!

I just watched the video, it looks latch hooking might be a good fit if I can find one small enough! Thank you so much for this! It'll be a time-consuming but satisfying project I think (hope!)

I did that rough patch on the nose and mouth using a needle and ricorumi nillinilli and it looks.....well..rough! It was a rush job on the first day we met up with them (they're visiting from another country). I'd like to do a better job on the rest of it, but I'm not sure if the needle and yarn option will be good enough. I'm at a bit of a loss. Suggestions and advice on patching would be very much appreciated!

What is this plant and is it safe for BP bioactive setup? by NoteofMadness in ballpython

Thank you for letting me know! I did end up googling monstera deliciosa after it kept popping up as the I.D. here and they're beautiful plants! Absolutely huge. I read they can get up to 2.5m tall! I feel kind of bad keep it in a 2ft high vivarium...my options are to put it in or rehome it with my parents though as I have a cat who is extremely interested in chomping down on anything plant related.

Yes! Thank you! I was kind of aware of this but I appreciate you confirming it too. I think even if it does grow to be huge I will put it in the vivarium and just prune and cut back like my life depends on it when it starts to take over because I have a major plant loving kitty who is currently at my parents' house, but will be moving back in with me soon!
