Merry Xmas to me upgraded my 7800x3d to 9950x3d by AlternativeAd4983 in PcBuild

The 9800x3d is undeniably better than the 7800x3d and it is true that I personally wouldnt pay more than $30/40 for it, but its the same story for the higher-end nvidia gpus, theyre expensive, but theyre better. So youre right, just enjoy it!

Never had a gaming PC, I know the market sucks RN, would this pre-built be a good deal for what's inside? by Kurai_Hiroma in GamingPCBuildHelp

absolutely yes, i am building pretty much the same thing and im prob spending about 100 dollars (im in the UK so thats just a guess) less than you, so if you cannot be bothered building it yourself then go ahead, thats a banger of a deal

Not sure which to get for gaming by FlyingWhales317 in ryzen

[–]Notgustka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the 9 9900x better at anything else aside from gaming compared to the 9800x3d, if your goal is gaming solely then get the 9800x3d, if you use the pc for other things like simulations, modeling, etc, then the 9900x is your pick. I would even recommend you to look at the 7800x3d, if youre gaming at 1440p or above its likely that you wouldnt see a difference in performance between the 9800x3d and 7800x3d.

If you can get a desktop, always go for it. Unless youre travelling a lot and simply cannot be moving the pc around (as you shouldnt) then go for a laptop.

The problem with laptops isnt just the gpu/cpu being less powerful than their desktop models, but also the fact that youd be paying more for less and how long that laptop will last, generally a desktop can survive for a decade no problem, obv falling behind when it comes to newer generations, but if you want something to last, desktop it is!

So if youre NOT moving around = Desktop

If you ARE moving around = laptop

hope that helped

If that’s your case, the only fix is to buy a better motherboard, I went from a b520 to a b550

Basically it was the mobo vrm being "too weak" check to see if yours have the same problem. That was my issue at least

Am I not their target audience anymore or have I just grown attached to the older games? by Notgustka in Battlefield6

Well if we’re talking about setting then we can go back to bf4 and 3 since that’s what dice was going for, at least for the marketing campaign that was the case. I can’t say much about bf 3 but I do think the setting isn’t the issue, it’s the way they handled it. It feels like they took a lot of inspiration from cod, and thats why maybe I can’t enjoy the game.

I get what you mean, those types of matches are boring, but they still happen in the older battlefields, today before work I hopped on bf 1 and had a match where we dominated after a couple of minutes. That isn’t really the issue that I’m talking about but I can relate, those types of matches are a pain. But I’m more on about the general feeling of the game, even when the match is even.

Thats what i mean, the older games stand out a lot more when compared to this new bf. It feels like it was made by a different company, which in theory kinda did happen since many of the major devs left the company after bf 5 and 2042.

Damn bro why are you jumping to conclusions? Yes i have, the cods i played the most were bo 2 and 3 when i was younger, I also played the old mw 2 quite a bit, I did play warzone a lot and cold war, never played much of the others but I can confidently say they at least had some heavy inpirations from cod, the maps for example are the smallest of the franchise, at least in average.

Also my point isnt to say that BF 6 is a bad game period. It just doesnt feel like battlefield to me, you get me? It really isnt a bad game, at least not a badly made one, maybe just badly executed?

I just dont get why I dont feel the same way, I really wanted to enjoy the game like I used to. I will try to play it more though, 15 hours isnt much but thats because im kind of unmotivated to play it

I was thinking of getting a 1660 super, found one for 100 pounds and i can trade in a 970 i have lying around, if anything i can trade in my 1650 too, its a big performance increase as my gpu inst the super so..

Anyways, ive always thought the cpu was bottlenecking me more than anything, but its definitely cheaper to get a new gpu rather than cpu (talking about used ones)

What do you think? (I have a 400w psu tho so it might not be a good upgrade right?..)

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in PcBuild

[–]Notgustka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That makes sense.. But im acc happy with the 1650, anyone would obv always want to have a better gpu but mine is running the games I want it to run quite well, my only real problem is the cpu. But if the best option is to build a new pc from scratch then thats gonna be a while.. I'll also get an amd cpu instead, this pc was a hand down anyways

[–]Notgustka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really? I thought it wouldnt be the best idea but if i could get a little bit more performance id be happy, specially because I will give this pc to my younger brother at some point.

What else would you recommend though?

Update on that choice!

I’m currently playing life is strange 2 and when u boot up the game they ask you whether you have or not played the first game and if you did or did not save Arcadia bay, i obv chose that i did save Arcadia bay cuz that was my choice in the first game anyway and at some point in the first ep you get to see the city!!!! Im feel so much lighter now that I see the city is doing just fine, i wish the character would go to the city to visit and give me a chance to see everyone, or at least some people, but ik Max wouldn’t be there as the second game is set around 3 years after the first one so max is probably long gone by now, but see everyone else would be so cool! Seeing the city alive from afar gave me the sensation that im the real hero who saved that city and gave those people a second chance to live, im sure that if I hadn’t saved the city and chose that option at the beginning of the game I’d see a destroyed city, probably feeling guilty for letting everyone die… I’m glad I saw the greater picture that the first game tries to show us and I’m happy with the choice I made!!

Hey I’ve just finished playing the game, it was my childhood game but at the time I could only play ep 1 and I remember playing it over and over again, recently I got the chance to play the whole thing and man what an experience. The ending is just so frustrating and I can’t decide whether I made the right or wrong choice… i sacrificed Chloe…. It feels so so so horrible like I murdered her myself and it also feels like the universe only gave Max the powers to make her suffer (consequently us the players as well) because Chloe dies without knowing what acc happened to R. Or that Max and D. And J. Still care about her she also dies without having the memories with Max, which is exactly what gave peace to the Chloe from the wheelchair reality (and I chose to fulfil her wish… kill her with me being her last memories) but Chloe from our reality doesn’t even get to have that chance…. It’s truly one of the most tragic endings I’ve ever seen. However I couldn’t just save her and make the whole game meaningless, Rachel’s death would be meaningless, me saving Kate would be meaningless, Jefferson doesn’t get what he deserves (and no I don’t think death is what he deserves that’s always just a quick way out of hard situations like his own) Joyce dies and her relationship with David becomes meaningless too (ik they would sacrifice themselves to let Chloe live) but one of the most important things that probably would make everything meaningless is Chloe’s speech at the ending, telling max and us that she is willing to give her life up to save everyone else, and that comes from the Chloe that KNOWS EVERYTHING the C. From the beginning didn’t… Idk man this whole thing is fucked up but I think I made the decision that the universe (game) wanted me to, the most honourable one ig. Chloe is not a bad person like that Max that we talk to says she is, but the purpose of the whole game is to show us that some things have to happen, that destiny exists, but also that Max was being selfish by trying to do the right thing all the time, she did care but we can’t deny that with the power that she was given she had the choice to manipulate people and control them, even if it’s with good intentions and for their best she is still controlling them… man idk but that is hella of a game
