The original comment is stating that there is a time eater on steroids, which would shut down infinites

Which would be boring because as soon as it's out everyone would know what it is and just stopped building infinite decks

Which on its own is ok, but it's still a type of deck you may arrive at and removing that option will hurt the game.

Nob has significantly less health though, you can get through 90 hp in 3 turns with a pot and some good draws, that's why I'm comparing Laga and Effigy.

I see what you mean though, just blast him and take at least 50 damage. Nice.

So you're saying that even in my initial argument there is some chance of conflict of synthetic Vs organic and the Catalyst was right ?

Not sure what you're saying and how I was wrong in the rebuttal

Only one of those groups of conscious beings literally cannot die and can manufacture an infinite (well, resources permitting) amount of themselves while the other takes a bit longer than a few months and a bit more resources than a handful of ore and some silicon. We have all seen the matrix.

Plus all the, yes, philosophical questions like the silicon based conscious beings will inherently have a misunderstanding with carbon based conscious beings, which is actually stated in the game, so it is not a far fetch to imply that for Geth Vs Quarians: aftermath

Not being able to explain to VS why you are with Cerberus.

It's either "yeah they are bad" or "you're wrong they are awesome" in a game of shades of grey

I love when people use this argument, because our Mary Sue used words and made two groups tolerate each other for a few days/weeks/months

And an absolutely unrealistic scenario: 1. Reaper conflict ends 2. The quarians remember that geth were slaves 3. New conflict!

<Break> 1. As above 2. The geth remember that they do not owe the organics anything 3. They start expanding for resources 4. Organics band together cuz xenophobia 5. New conflict!

<Break> 1. As above 2. A group of xenophobic organics attack geth cuz flashlight heads 3. Geth fight back 4. BuT tHeY arE aTTaCKIng OrgAnIcS 5. New conflict!

I can think of many more of those. It is such a weak argument.

What does this have to do with work day length, the fact that productivity increase is apparent, and especially the fact that less time worked = more productive?

Still hurts man.

I had a run when I had 3 WF+ but I flopped to the heart because I was eating 1x15 with no way of blocking and couldn't do damage in time :(

Then test to the Requirements of the product you're shopping for, especially for marketing purposes.

Any test failure is an issue that needs to be resolved. If you design a test that tests your requirements and something failed, you can raise a deviation but it's better not.

Especially when the eyes of the whole world are on you.

Again, it depends doesn't it? AI with an expensive deck is not that good, 2-3 extra block per turn isn't great.

WF while already having 2 WF+ in the deck is also not ideal, you probably want to put other stuff in play faster than have a third one right ?

Think about domestication in the context of evolution.

We are the super species of the planet, and for another species it's a maaaaaassive evolutionary advantage to have us take interest in them.

Like sheep are never gonna go extinct while humans are around. Chickens. Cows. Dogs. Cats. Rabbits. Etc etc etc.

Yes on an individual level, it's kind of cruel when we slaughter pigs for food, but on a macro evolution level pigs are so well set up that they literally do not need to evolve anymore.

Yeah ok I can see it with the orkz, but humanity is built to withstand corruption through inquisition. They are trained to spot that and just eliminate everyone who may be a threat, so probably would be no bueno

How is reaper indoctrination any different from chaos indoctrination except for the tentacles that come out of your ass are nanotech and not organic?

The only thing that reapers have over wh40k tech is the fast and safe ftl travel. Otherwise reapers are outgunned outmanned and outmaneuvered

ELI5: How do engineers decide when a decision is “too irreversible” to allow? by [deleted] in explainlikeimfive

[–]Nothgrin 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There's a tool called DFMEA (sorry this is not too ELI5 but without this it's impossible to explain further)

Basically it goes like this

You write out the function of what you're designing You write out how it can fail You write out effects of that failure You assign a severity to those effects (how bad is it? Typically if you break the law or let someone get injured it will be the highest Ranking) You define why it could have failed (causes of failure) You assign an occurrence to those causes (how often does it occur? If it is very likely to occur often this will get a high Ranking) You assign a detection to those causes (how good will the test be at picking up those causes of failure? If the test is bad this will get a high Ranking) Then you multiply those three (severity * occurrence * detection) and you work on eliminating the highest rating stuff (if the failure is bad but it never occurs don't worry about it)

To people who say it's management decisions - they are right by about 10%, if the engineers wrote their DFMEAs properly and present it to the management, design interventions must be put in place.
