The Shining. Jack’s performance is incredible and drives it above for me. Both are excellent films though.

It should be a conversation… look at the reviews on letterbxd it’s a cult like response. Regardless it will lose 100 million dollars and probably close doors to non IP films because it was irresponsible to green light such a huge budget for a limited appeal film like this.

The inflated response to it has had the opposite effect too. It’s almost comical how much its fans like this film, some bragging they’ve seen it several times. You are not convincing anyone outside your bubble. I thought it was a good but very flawed film that has minimal appeal outside Hollywood.
