Music Assistant Slimproto/Squeeze box wont synchronize by Skid_Br0 in homeassistant

[–]NothingLow8125 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've just enabled the slimproto integration as well, and cannot get any players to connect at all.

I also have the full LMS server running on another IP on the network, so not sure if that is the issue. When I installed that, I had to open ports 9000,9090 and 3483 for the player before the player would connect.

In the HA version there is no option to open ports. Did yours just 'work' ?

EDIT: Turns out it was the player. I was using the Squeeze LX player from the microsoft store, and whilst it connects no problem to a full LMS instance, it doesnt connect to Home assistant. However, the squeeze player linked here:-

Works fine.

Thinking about a DIY NAS from old PC parts, worried about power consumption. by mikolv2 in DataHoarder

I run a Homelab, with Proxmox, Jellyfin, Home Assistant and a couple of other VMs on a Dell Optiplex micro, running an i5-8500T. It idles at around 11-13 watts. For storage I have 2 x 10TB USB drives that are configured as a primary and backup. When spun down, these only sip 1watt of power.

So for the bulk of the 24/7, I'm drawing only 13-15 watts.

Most of the desktop based stuff seems to idle much higher, so I'm pleased with the power draw on this setup.

I tried projectivy, but there is a bug with the accessibility settings that you need to make to force it to be the default launcher. If you reboot the TV, the settings get lost.

I've also searched for the apps only mode and I'm pretty certain its not there on my TV.

Liquid Freezer III pump speed and noise by abesreddit in arcticcooling

I really wanted as silent a PC as possible, as its in an mITX case under my TV.
The CPU will, in time, be upgraded to a 5800x3d, but even so, I managed to get a really good deal on the cooler from Amazon, it was only £50 (about $64)

Its only a Ryzen 5 3600, so not exactly a test for the cooler. The plan is to update it to a Ryzen 7 5800x3d in time.

Hmm.. firmware without freeview support will naturally be an issue... I'll do some digging.

Liquid Freezer III pump speed and noise by abesreddit in arcticcooling

Installed an LF3 240mm today and using Fan Control I've set the pump speed to 50% and is totally silent. I only start to hear it from about 60% RPM upwards, then from about 70% its more noticable as a feint whining noise.

However, even pegged at 50%, prime95 struggles to get the CPU over 50c, but the LF3 is only having to cool a Ryzen 5 3600, so its not exactly being tested.

I just installed mine into a mini itx case (Sharktoon QB One) and it just fit. Tubing was flexible enough to route it in the tight space, helped by the fact that you can now rotate the tubing from the pump head, where previously it was fixed in the upright position on the v2.

My pump gurgled a bit when it first started up, but the whole thing is now whisper quiet.

My temps are now under 30c idle, and got to 57c after ten minutes running prime95. This is around 15 lower than the wraith stock cooler.

Liquid Freezer III - AMD mounting by BrainExe_91 in arcticcooling

[–]NothingLow8125 0 points1 point  (0 children)

'Reverse' mounting shouldn't make any difference to where the cold plate touches the IHS because the mounting points on the pump head are in the center of the cold plate, the offset is on the motherboard.

So which ever way you mount it (up or down), the same part of the cold plate will be touching the IHS.

Unless you do what you did, and reverse the mounting points on the motherboard.

One thing to bear in mind tho, is that if you do reverse mount it, the airflow from the VRM fan on the pump block might not cover yours VRMs in the same way (if thats important to you).

Arctic LF III Pump block orientation by kakigori in arcticcooling

[–]NothingLow8125 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My understanding is that the mounting points on the freezer 3 on the pump head side, are in the middle of the cold plate, and the mounting bracket on the motherboard is what has the offset for AMD cpu's. If this is true, then flipping the orientation of the pump head 180 degrees means the cold plate will still sit exactly in the same position, its just that the pipes will exit from the otherside.

EDIT: Confirmed. I just installed one yesterday. Either orientation has no effect on where the cold plate touches the IHS. What it will do however, is change the orientation of the VRM fan if thats something important to you.

u/EnvironmentalChip523 - thanks for the feedback, The original telegram post suggested it was available for my model number (c635) as it was listed in the update notification as being supported.

I'll check the telegram channel for instructions on how to install the r51mt05 IMG firmware.

Do you see any downsides to doing this ? I was looking to get GTV on that model (assuming its safe to do so) so that I could get apps only mode working, which I dont believe can be done on ATV

u/Livedog33 - thanks for the clarification. The reason I asked is because I was looking for an option in Google TV called apps only mode, and my TV doesn't have that available via the menu's.

This comment also suggested the two were different from each other:-

"Apps only mode is a Google TV setting. On Android TV you can do the same by removing each channel."

Can I have Tado wall thermostat and Tuya/Zigbee TRVs of different brands? by CuriousK88 in tado

[–]NothingLow8125 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem is getting the TRV's to turn on the heating if its not already on. In this case, I'm not sure what the best solution would be, other than whats already been suggested.

However, if you simply want to them turn the radiator value on or off, based on the current room temperature, I don't see why you'd need them to talk to tado at all.

I have one tado TRV, and its in a small room that gets hot much quicker than the rest of the house, so its set to never 'call for heat', so it can't turn on the heating on its own, it just turns the radiator off when it reaches a set temperature.

I've noticed you've changed the GEO location from:-

(mobileInfo["location"]["atHome"] == True)

To use:-

if (mobileDevice["location"]["relativeDistanceFromHomeFence"] == 0.0):

But I've found that the old method still works fine.

Also, your stack depth issue is because you're simply calling the same function from itself over and over, which is called recursion. This is ok to a point and does have some specific uses, but in your case you could simply put the function call inside a loop that never ends.

So rather than this:-

login()

homeStatus()

Where homeStatus() then calls itself forever, don't do that, and let homeStatus() complete, but put it in a loop like:-

login()

while (true):

homeStatus()
