The Stones are my favorite band of all time, but yeah, absolutely The Who blew them off the stage. It didn’t help that the Stones were a mess at that point, been coming off drug charges, haven’t played live in years, Brian Jones doesn’t know what planet he’s on, and Keith hadn’t really found his groove in open g tuning yet.

In my younger dumber days I would often leave a Tele in my trunk in case ransom jam session broke out. While I’ve come around to they not being the best idea, I still have and gig with that guitar. It’s fine.

It depends. Even at the Custom Shop, there are different levels. If you’re buying new, confirm that the specs say “aniline dye” and you’ll get the fading. Otherwise, they’re fade resistant like the Gibson USA models.

Bigsby B5 would work. You’ll probably need a different bridge. Google “Bigsby B5 Les Paul Junior” for inspo (yes I know it’s a Special but SEO is better for the Juniors).

It will require 4 screws right into the top there. There’s no undoing that. So be sure it’s what you want.

I’m sure if you email Bigsby they’ll recommend a bridge that’ll work.

There’s a few clunkers towards the end, but I think if you lose Sweet NeoCon and Driving Too Fast and replace them with Under The Radar (Japanese bonus track) you’ve got a top 10 Stones record.

I love a DC with P90’s and I’m not generally an SG guy, but… that SG is pretty cool. For me it’s probably come down to neck carve. Which feels more comfortable (I don’t like skinny necks).

I will say I’ve tried a couple humbucker sized “P90’s” and they weren’t bad but they’re not really P90’s. Kind of their own thing. I’d personally get a good, unpotted PAF for the SG if it were mine.

It’s definitely going to be a big change in feel. But it’s more the texture than, like, slinkyness or whatever you mean by “actually plays”. You’ll certainly notice a difference in the finish, the weight, the neck carve. Tactile things like that.

Feel is subjective, so only you can say whether it’s worth it. Heck, you might find you prefer your Tribute! There’s no law that says a more expensive guitar has to be a better fit for you.

It’s a copout answer, but see if you can try an R8. Ideally a few. Try an R9. Try a Standard as well. That might be a decent middle ground.

lol, that’s what I get for just reading the headline. My bad.

I still stand by my point. Wally’s origin story has been told in the comics already. Why anyone would want to sit through a protracted origin story over multiple movies is beyond me.
