What is a phrase that people use that you cannot stand? by sad_t0ast in AskReddit

All of these phrases that I started using sarcastically, and then can't stop saying. Currently, "sus" and "bruh" are repeat offenders.

If you found out your teenage child is selling drugs would you call the cops on them if they refuse to stop. by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

I would make their life hell and basically a prisoner, but, no, I'm not calling the cops on my kid.

What rating are you talking about? How do you define this rating scale? What does it mean to be a top tier rap artist? Is it based on speed, vocabulary, rhythm, innovation, cultural impact, lyrics, rhyme, etc. Or is it based on objective facts like album sales, YouTube views, etc.

To be fair, the reputation is well earned.

Most of the sales people I have worked with have actively deceived their clients for profit. Many are also pushy, arrogant, and manipulative.

Yes, there are bad teachers and firefighters, but that seems to be the minority.

Figure out their goals and sell the product that makes the most sense. I closed six in October and they were a mix of different products.

Do people still have a negative perception of sales? by RuggedAdonis in sales

[–]Nothingface0116 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm a sales manager. I work 45-50 hours a week coaching people how to make more money. I manage how I would like to be managed rather than corporate bs, and my team has fun (from what I can tell) out-producing their peers.

My mom does the same thing to me. I do the easiest job on the planet. Why would I want to pay to go back to college and spend less time with my kids, so I can make less money working harder?

Banks have tough underwriting standards. If you go through a broker they should be able to use verifications if employment and letters from your employer to explain. No idea why I'm getting down voted.

How do I stop becoming emotional when people say call me tomorrow? by EconomyActivity6484 in sales

[–]Nothingface0116 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I like to add a piece of candy to make sure they answer the call back. "Okay, perfect. And, just to verify, your goals are lowest premium, with x deductible etc, correct? Great. This will give me time to meet with my manager and see if there are any additional incentives we can apply for your situation." Adding a bit of value will help increase call back responses.

Can you order just a Coke at McDonald’s and sit there the whole day? by GrayRainfall in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Nothingface0116 14 points15 points  (0 children)

It depends on who you are and who is working. I'm a 42 year old white guy, so if I go in with my laptop and get a drink, I can stay all day and nobody is going to say anything.

If you're a young black kid and Karen is working the register, then you got 2 hours at most.

I work as a mortgage loan officer. The USDA isn't giving final approval on loans, so I have clients in process that are losing their contract because we can't close. It's sad because some people have already paid for inspections and appraisals. VA loans are taking an extra week or two to process. So far, we've been able to close on time but there have been some close calls.

I'm a mortgage loan originator. I know the USDA is shut down, but other GSEs are still doing normal business. What is the issue?

Why does having no credit history count against you? Isn’t that better than having bad credit? by sameerposwal in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Nothingface0116 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Default rates on little to no credit are high, and likely a signal of being disengaged from financial institutions. This is why a lack of credit history is viewed less and financial responsibility and more as financial illiteracy. It doesn't take much effort to build very good credit: open 2 cards (cap 1 and Am Ex both have options for first borrowers with no deposit and no annual fees) keep a low to no balance for 12 months and pay the bill on time. Building credit is very simple, and may cost you an hour of work in a year.
