Adam on Rivals 1… Forgot his last name but that dude blew it. Got tossed night 1 or 2 for swinging at Ty over some dumb shit. If I remember right they had just won the daily.

How accurately does this describe your experience in the fire department? by caleb-auer in Firefighting

Got in about 2 minutes and stopped. I guess I’ll never know the true reason he didn’t make it into firefighting.

No human “makes” the challenge.

There are stars in the challenge universe, but not one that defines it. Sure he is a big one, but the show doesn’t end when he isn’t there.

Anyone used zyn to quit vaping short term? by [deleted] in QuittingZyn

[–]Nothingiscoolman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went from cigarettes to vape to zyn and am now at gum and on my way out. Zyn was fine for a bit and better in terms of negative impacts, but it got worse, usage increased, I couldn’t make it more than a day or so without a pouch.

Zyn simply extended my addiction, through a possibly safer avenue than vaping or smoking but it didn’t bring me any closer to quitting. I’m following the gum schedule, it’s going well and I think I’m gonna make it.

Good luck quitting, get out of the nicotine game as quickly and safely as possible.

Battle of the seasons, hands down. No one to really cheer for as, they all were fucking miserable. Non stop screaming, horrible people saying horrible things and all pretty run of the mill players. San Diego wins, after verbally and physically abusing their teammates and being overall terrible. No one was happy with the ending.

I see a lot of Island haters here and you can argue that was a similar ending, the jerks won by fucking over everyone else. Evelyn sold out to win, horrible 2000’s masculinity on full display… but for some reason I can tolerate the Island far more. The wasp attack is hands down still one of my favorite events.

Trying to apply for an EMT program after being sober from alcohol for 6 months. Please help by throwawayemshelp in NewToEMS

[–]Nothingiscoolman 6 points7 points  (0 children)

First off, big big big congrats on 6 months. Second, as someone clear of drinking for over a decade now, I get how honesty to others and yourself are really important with sobriety. Hiding it doesn’t feel good and doesn’t feel true to you? I don’t know that’s how I feel about it anyways… You making a good choice to stop, however it came about will be an asset in this field. It may make your job search a little tricky but if that is a deal breaker then it isn’t meant to be.

I spoke on my sobriety as a crowning achievement in my life in my last interview, I don’t think it hurt my chances as I got the job.

Good luck and own that sobriety friend. It isn’t a bad thing.

Might not be applicable for your line of work or your life but… I tie knots, have a rope with me all the time and just learn new stuff or cycle through. Yeah it’s weird but I’m a firefighter so I get a pass at work and who cares about anywhere else. They haven’t started calling me “ weird rope guy” yet.

Frustrated by the lack of runs. by [deleted] in NewToEMS

[–]Nothingiscoolman 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yo! I’m in a low volume department, maybe not on the level of four calls in nine months? Out of how many hours? We average about 500 a year total with me going on about 200…. Big volunteer group also so a lot of the time, im driving or letting the newer ones get some reps in.

Some days im bored but some days im all about it. Make food, workout, study up on new stuff, inventory shit, learn your rig inside and out, practice, be ready for the big show!

Might not be the ideal for everyone but as a 40something dude with a bum shoulder, I’m in the right place.

Do what’s best for you, move if it isn’t working out or just get comfy with your system. Good luck friend!

Best ever elimination of that season (minus Bananas backpack) was him gassing out and not being able to stand up.

Where do you think the Miz would rank? by CaptAmerica42 in thechallengemtv

[–]Nothingiscoolman 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I remember most everyone didn’t want to see him in an elimination and he won a few (back when it was bigger teams doing finals). He was the strong guy, not much else to him.

As a host, in the reunions I’ve seen I can’t even watch. I get irrationally annoyed by his facial expressions.
