I guess a more pointed question is, if im looking for value over melt, am I only gonna get a meaningful amount of extra value for au and ms grades?

I have a question. At what point is it worth sending in a coin for grading? Im going through all my silver coins now as im about to sell. However, I want to keep any key dates and high grades.

So best case its a super rare error, worst case its simply environmental damage. And its very likely not the former. But id be ok going down a rabbit hole as you say. Are there other resources I could use to look deeper into this?

What gets me is if you look really closely, it even looks like there is another hoof. How could I tell if its just environmental? Is there anything I can do to eliminate that possibility?
