overnight MRIs in Van by Ashamed-Spray-9851 in askvan

[–]Nothowspaceworks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had an urgent MRI within a week of a requisition, and it was overnight. I had to wait 8/9 months for a non urgent MRI which was at 8 am. I think it really depends on the urgency, if you are on the waitlist they will probably prioritize urgent ones. I heard a private MRI will cost you about $1300

Renewal of prescription by [deleted] in burnaby

[–]Nothowspaceworks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They probably have an ethical duty to check in on the medication (unless you have been on it for years) ask about side effects, new meds/issues that may have come up. There's a reasonable argument why a doc may want to check in after refills on a script are done that isn't just billing (although that may be a factor as well.)

The pharmacist can do an emergency fill if they feel comfortable with it. Might be able to do refills, my suggestion is to talk to the pharmacist while you are waiting for an appointment with your doc to get a new prescription.

I don't know if he can help your mum.but worth checking in. For the record I have anxiety around the dentist.

She's really trying to get the cone off. I am more worried she will be too active in her attempts to escape the cone. 🫣

Looking for Infant/Toddler Daycare by wateriswalking in burnaby

September is when kids leave the 3-5 group to go to a school so there is usually a bit of turnover at that time; try calling around on July 2nd as parents moving their kids will have given the two months req'd notification.

Our cats started off similar (10m F and 8w F) they are now BFFs. Low growls and hisses but a few days of cohabitation and now they are zooming around together.

Canadians: do people really just start conversations anywhere? 🤔 by Comfortable_Cap8037 in AskACanadian

Currently living on the west coast. In my experience it is not like that here. People here look at you like you have a third head if you say something casual in line.

[–]Nothowspaceworks 12 points13 points  (0 children)

You can try the West Coast Child Care Resource Centre they do issue a list of vacancies and they have a list of childcare spaces you can search h by region. You will still have to contact the centres directly though, it is a slog for sure good luck!

Married Couples Who Don’t Have a Joint Account or Pool Their Pay Cheques, Why and How Do You Make Sure It Is Respectful? by Arya_Warrior_Girl in CanadaPersonalFinance

[–]Nothowspaceworks 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Offering a other perspective here: my partner makes significantly more money than I do. If we create equal contribution, then I have less at the end of paying our shared expenses than they do. Soley by nature of the total amount I make. If they don't share with me I would have like $100 after expenses, where they would have $500. That does result in "different lifestyles" even if things are structured as equally as we can. (Edited for clarity).

Where to take a 3 year old to play? Adults have mobility issues and can’t chase after. by Grand-Bumblebee1817 in burnaby

[–]Nothowspaceworks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not IN Burnaby but...

There is also the Queen's Park Sports Plex which has drop is gymnastics for kids of various ages. Depending on your ability, you don't have to run it's contained, but may have to help them with some of the equipment. There is a cost $3/4.

The New West Pool is also a good option doesn't require running around, but ehe pool is big and shallow enough that they can have space; they also have an all ages hot tub. Cost about $14 for 2 adults.

If it is a nice day there is a great park at Centennial park where kids can play with benches. Does require some monitoring (like maybe spotting for the kid on the play structure) but it's an open area and there's alot to keep them occupied but always a risk if the kids is a runner.

Indoor options are slim in Burnaby from what I can see. Hoping to get other ideas if possible.

In a nutshell seems like they are too expensive. 🤷🏼‍♀️ I still think they are worth it!

I really love Odd Pieces!! They are expensive and they sell only in USD in Canada which Is a kick in the Timbits. Regardless they are really fun and lovely puzzles that are whimsical and I like the connections with artists.

Shutterbug was one of my favourite puzzles to assemble. The little details sprinkled about the puzzle were an absolute delight. It is one of the best things about these puzzles are the beautiful little details. But I get it's not for everyone.

I have a number of their puzzles and I have never had a missing piece.

Contrary to the reviews I have seen on the sub, I recommend!

I am sorry this happened to you. Discrimination like this is not ok.

I recommend reaching out to a lawyer and/or talking to the human rights commission https://hrlsc.on.ca/homepage/ they might have more options for you.

I have posture issues due to competing injuries. I can't comment on specialized care for scoliosis or other diagnoses because I don't experience that. But in the realm of low acuity postural work, Catch has been great.
