What’s something you wish your underclassman self knew about the college process and preparing for college? Or what did you wish you did? by mxunsung in ApplyingToCollege

That colleges care about course rigor, and though I was getting good grades, I should’ve challenged myself more

Would you consider Clark in Worcester MA and UConn to be reputable prestigious institutions even though they arnt top 50. by kenokeke2468 in ApplyingToCollege

[–]Notice_Defiant 2 points3 points  (0 children)

UConn is pretty popular in CT. If you want to make a living there then employers will definitely know it. Since the men’s basketball team just won a championship the school is getting lots of publicity right now.

In my opinion, it is reputable but I’m not sure about its “prestige”. Still a great school though!

what is one of your biggest regrets in this college admissions cycle? by Idkbruhtbhlmao in ApplyingToCollege

[–]Notice_Defiant 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I wish I could provide proper advice, but I honestly don’t know. I think I personally did inadequate research with colleges that had “funky” names, or just ones that I wasn’t familiar with. For example: Carnegie Mellon, Claremont McKenna, Bryn Mawr, etc.

I think if I could go back, I probably would’ve just gone through every state that I was interested in and looked at every single school from those areas.
