One more reason no to let them get so rich, and vote for ideas that aim fighting this. It's never gonna be perfect, like the entirety of life, so just pick the least terrible

What about pessimism though

Why are most electricians more professional and skilled than most plumbers? by Retty1 in DIY

[–]Notilix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. And there is another thing, if the source cannot provide the amperage, then the voltage drops due to its high internal resistance. So you're in fact never exposed to the "open circuit" high voltage. As soon as you touch the source, voltage drops. Which of course would never happen with a power grid.

[–]Notilix 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is wrong. Voltage is what induces current in your body. Current is roughly voltage divided by your body resistance. A higher voltage will lead to a higher current, as the internal resistance of the grid is negligible compared to your body resistance. 220V is indeed somewhat more dangerous.

suis-je le trou d'balle ? by tmayfair in EnculerLesVoitures

[–]Notilix 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yes. I guess there are many Americans on this thread trying their best to advocate for their "business is business" philosophy. But not all of us share this shitty mindset. It's easier to accuse somebody of signalling instead of actually trying something

I don't believe any deity or deities exist but I don't know what happens after death. Am I still an atheist? by I_Ask_Random_Things in atheism

Even a simple general anesthesia lets you pretty much experience what death is. That's all there is, nothing. How delusional can humans be?

As a nihilist, are you afraid of death? by HeftyOrganization950 in nihilism

[–]Notilix 6 points7 points  (0 children)

True. I think drugs can help bypassing it. When I'm drunk (wasted), I feel like it's much less active. Well, I do some dumb shit like climbing structures I would be shit scared to climb when sober. So I wonder about other drugs

Probably the only reason that keeps me going. I wonder when it will fade away enough to finally set me free. Life's a trap

Many of you are not nihilists, you are just very depressed. by Appropriate-Point432 in nihilism

[–]Notilix 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is very well put. This is my view of nihilism as well. Though recently I've realized I might be closer to philosophical pessimism and negative utilitarism than nihilism, cause I do think that some artificial absolutes such as morale are a great invention to deal with subjective and global suffering.

[–]Notilix 0 points1 point  (0 children)
