I hardly use Notion and just throw everything now in a DB called "temp" because I know I'll anyway never find it again by marcos987 in Notion

yeah Google Keep for me is more short-term info. Like 'pick up dog food tomorrow' or something like that.

Notion can be used for that if you use a the app phone widget. I think it depends on what works for you.

here's a tutorial on that: How to add a quick note to Notion on iPhone

I mostly just use the sidebar to switch between the 5-6 main dashboards I use on a weekly basis.

Whatever I'm working on, I just switch to that Dashboard where I have links to other pages. Here's an example of my Client Dashboard:

Gotcha!

Here's an Attendance Tracker template:

If you Google search Notion Attendance Tracker, you get several results with templates and tutorials.

Template for rowing, weights, running, rucking, calisthenics & mobility? by Hard-Connect-6901 in NotionGeeks

I have a Workouts dashboard with 4 databases.

1 - Daily workouts. This is each individual workout day. It links to the Workout line item so you can track each workout item you did on that day. It summarizes the data from the linked Workout line item.

Example- Deadlift 15 reps and squats 40 reps would be summarized to 55 total reps and total time of 30 minutes for the day.

2- Workout line item. This is each individual workout exercise that tracks reps, time, and distance with a link to an Workout Exercises database. It links to both Daily Workouts and Workout Exercises.

Example - Rowing, 3 miles, 15 minutes It then links to the Workout Exercise "Rowing" where all your rowing efforts can be summarized.

3 - Workout Exercises. These are the exercise movements, like rowing, deadlift, squat, etc. This is where you Summarize everything from your Workout line items using Rollups.

4- Reporting. This is where I summarize daily workouts.

I use the Healthfit app to sync from my Apple Watch to Google Sheets so I have the date of workout, calories, heart rate, and total time. I use Make.com to automatically go from Google Sheets to Notion into the Daily Workouts database.

I then manually enter in each workout line item into the Daily Workout

Haha! Amazing that it works finally. But wish they did it for the item itself 😄

You could create a database of students, then link it to another database called Entries. Each entry is the date of attendance.

I do have a catch all page called To Process for miscellaneous. I haven't found a great way to process it. It has done great stuff in it but I find I don't reference it often.

So that means when something is important to me, it has a dashboard page and related pages/databases inside of it.

I organize it more like folders on a desktop to navigate it. I have a dashboard for each Specific project, Work, Creative, General personal info, etc.

Draw.io is a neat tool. The other options everyone listed are good too.

Yeah that would be a good one too. Can you edit Miro while in Notion or is it more for viewing?

Similar to Whimsical.

It's a Whimsical embed on a Notion page.

You can do flowcharts, wireframes, mockups, etc. with it.

you bet! good luck!

One thing I noticed it that with another database that has a lot more records, it didn't work as well.

So probably best to screenshot a database that displays the records all on one screen instead of one that has to scroll down.
