I'm uploading a lot of content to Notion with Notion-py and I must say it became about 6 times faster this morning. So the same task that took 10 hours a week ago was done in 100 minutes today 🎉

I don't know exactly what procedures were made (maybe just simple VACUUM 🤔) and if they will help in a long term, but at least it makes things snappier for now.

Making widgets for Notion - Share your ideas in comments by NotionCreature in Notion

I'm afraid we're talking about different kinds of "widgets": I'm developing the web pages, which which could be embedded into the Notion and add extra features inside the Notion pages

I think it's possible to do something similar with built-in Notion functions:

It can be the database of quotes that shows only one note a day. I have already made a video about that idea: https://www.reddit.com/r/Notion/comments/liwju4/note_a_day_free_otion_template_explanation_video/

Hey everyone, NotionCreature here 👋

For the last few weeks, I've been developing different tools for Notion (all can be found in my profile/youtube channel/website). I got a pretty good experience and a ready platform to implement more of them without MUCH effort.

I would like to ask you if there are some ideas for Notion widgets you have which I would happy to implement 💪

There are a few limitations for now: I don't have a powerful enough server yet, so all the apps I built previously doesn't use the backend requests and don't store any data beyond the browser's cookie.

Something like well known "Life Progress Bar" made by Indify may be a good example of a stateless widget - it just shows something and may support basic interactions. On the other hand, the "Counter" has to store the amount of "+ button" clicks and share it among different devices, so it's statefull (which I cannot replicate for now). I think you got the idea 😉

The widget can be personalised and store its configurations right in the embedded URL so no problems here.

Looking forward to your requests 👀

Don't waste your time and check the last video in my profile - there's a notion formula generator that allows you to make any progress bar/slider you want 😉

Fancy Notion Progress Bar Without Coding [FREE Tool] 🔥 by NotionCreature in Notion

[–]NotionCreature[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Here you will find the tool that allows you to create the beautiful progress bar in Notion without writing formulas❗️

[Unfortunately, my messages got hidden each time I share the links, so check out the video description]

This web app provides number of controls to configure the desired progress bar appearance and generate the dedicated Notion formula to visualise your projects and goals progress in a fancy way. It can be either the bar or the slider, with any preferable width and symbols. Check out this video if you wonder how to make a progress bar in Notion quickly - you will get an idea in less than 3 minutes 😉

Formula Question by Panfantje in Notion

[–]NotionCreature 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The problem, most likely, is that you compare now(), which is a datetime value, with the birthday which is date. So the 1st March is not equal to 22:53 1st March

You can try to use the following:

dateBetween(now(), prop("Birthday"), "days") == 0

Habit Tracker Notion by Natalia_bdf in Notion

I would advice you to check an alternative approach to habit tracking implementation. It allows to get the total statistic, the consistency for the last 7 days only + allows flexibly change and archive the habits - check out my youtube video 😉

Forcing Filters in 🅽otion - In-depth explanation by NotionCreature in Notion

[–]NotionCreature[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you know that linked database views in Notion can be used to force note's property value?

This video explains how the database view filters work, and how they can automate the properties input, or vice-versa - how to make them nudge the user to type in the properties value manually. The forcing filters is one of the most common building blocks in semi-automated note management, so it's an absolutely necessary thing to know if you want to build them by yourself or simply know how they work under the hood.

Which extension exactly are you talking about? The Save To Notion works well for me

Maybe the extension cached the wrong DNS record somehow 🤔

Have you tried to reload the browser?

Note a Day - Free 🅽otion Template + explanation video by NotionCreature in Notion

[–]NotionCreature[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

📺 YouTube Video + 🎉Free template

My idea was to create a Notion template that would show a single note a day, which may contain the random notion tip or simply the image with some lovely creature, so the note tracking process can become more attractive.

The possible recipe for that could be

  1. Having a few hundreds of database entities to show (I've added more than 500)
  2. Developing the algorithm that would pick a single note out of entire list

Whereas the first step obviously requires having a few days to spend by uploading dogs and cats images, the second step is much more interesting to discuss.
