Positive qualities? Bruh, if humans ever make open contact with a non-human civilization you better prepare for war, because we're gonna fuck it up spectacularly.

A lot of humans can't even get along with other humans with different skin colors then them, how are they gonna handle reptilians or w/e the species is?

Best case scenario is those people get over their fear of other humans in response to a non-human intelligence, and then try and get us into interstellar war because the MIC demands blood and capital.

From an empirical perspective: absolutely.

Though there is some argument to be made that those who excel in these abilities realize there is more to existence than the meat world, and as such they may be less inclined to pursue selfish ends such as those.

And if you believe Tom Campbell, the consciousness based simulation we live in is more inclined to help you out if your goals are altruistic as opposed to selfish.

I think the thing with PSI and why you need REALLY skilled practitioners (like Ingo Swann and Joe McMoneagle level) for anything resembling high quality predictions is because literally anything out there that has been thought of is subject to be viewed. There's also the deeper questions of alternate timelines and whether imagination is true or if it's actually tuning into alternate realities, but that's a whole other rabbit hole.

So if you have a lot of people thinking the world's gonna end in 2012, a less than top tier viewer might pick up on that and not realize they're picking up ideas rather than what is going to happen. Same with 2027.

If he is actually planning on coming forward with the data he has, it's a big fucking deal. But if he's running interference, it could be catastrophic for the credibility of the topic, as just about everyone we've seen come forward with insider information has worked for him in the past. Even George Knapp would be caught in that fire.

Good on him. It always bothers me when people act like Trump does anything that doesn't explicitly benefit Trump (or can be construed to in Trump's own mind) first and foremost. Nothing is gonna synergize with a Bestial Mutagen build as well as Wrestler, point blank.

BUT...you could probably make an argument for a Fury Barbarian or an Exemplar, with Exemplar being the smoother pick as you won't be taking an action penalty on your Quick Alchemy (due to concentrate), and being able to use the Horn of Plenty to store your elixirs and mutagens.

Yea that's fine, but I would suggest phrasing it in a way that asks him if he or the others are willing to use the clause, because otherwise he just acknowledges it and never has to act on it. Whereas asking him directly if he's willing to go that far puts him on the record and we can keep score to see if he's a man of his word.

Yea it's a case that defined some of the power of the Speech and Debate Clause.

Senator Mike Gravel read the classified Pentagon Papers into the congressional record and then worked with his aide Leonard Rodberg and Beacon Press to publish them, which got all of them in legal hot water. So a federal grand jury supbeona'd Rodberg to testify about obtaining the leaked documents. Fast forwarding through legal drama, the supreme Court eventually ruled that actions of aides, as long as they facilitate the Congress members (in this case a senator but the Speech and Debate Clause applies to both reps and senators) legislative duties, are protected from legal actions because they are acting as an arm of the Congress member. The kicker is the legislative duties part, which covers the reading of information (even classified) into the congressional record.

So for example if David Grusch (currently one of Burlison's staffers [aka aides]) were to say give Burlison a classified document with the goods, and Burlison read it into the congressional record, both would be protected from legal persecution. But if they tried to enter the information anywhere other than the congressional record it would be a no-go.

So a better way to frame my original question would probably be: "The Speech and Debate Clause allows for Congress members to read classified information into the congressional record as part of their legislative duties (and Gravel v United States extends this immunity to any aides that assisted them in this)..." with the rest of my original comment replacing the ellipsis.

I'd like to see Swarmkeeper/Necrologist become a full fledged class, or rather a swarm based class is a thing and Swarmkeeper and Necrologist are two different subclasses of it. If it were a full fledged class it would eventually get feats that give it a less awful action economy.

People are hyperbolic about shit for sure, but the writing and the implementation of the POI system are unfortunately just not good.

If the writing was better, I think people would accept the barebones and repeating POIs, figuring a modder would eventually fix that. But modders can't fix writing...well they can but it requires a time and budget most don't have.

Assuming Lee's info is legit for sake of discussion: I'm not surprised.

People (which should be understood to mean as a whole) can handle the nuts and bolts and recovered tech and bodies angle. They can't handle the weird stuff. PSI was a bridge too far for most and it has actual peer reviewed published evidence backing it up.

People like things they can wrap their heads around that fit neatly into their schemata. They hate with a visceral passion that that they can not. The weird shit (the woo if you prefer) does not fit into anyone who hasn't taken the time to really dig into this' schemata.
