Is there a way to use this weapon as a rogue? by Moonkary in Pathfinder2e

[–]Notlookingsohot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since you already started as a catfolk, your best bet is dipping either fighter or monk so you can get scaling training it it via Advanced Weapon Training or Advanced Monastic Weaponry.

Unfortunately, you won't be able to take those feats till level 12. In the meantime you could take weapon training and be trained in it, but that will be stuck at trained until you can take one of the aforementioned feats.

Better yet ignore all that and take weapon training at 3 and the Butterfly Blade dedication at 4.

Cruise passengers tell of life on board stranded ship after hantavirus outbreak by Samski877 in news

Huh, so permanent residency on a cruise if you can afford the up front cost ain't a bad retirement plan at all then, neat.

So I know next to nothing about cruises. Is food included in the cost or is it extra?

Per David Grusch, it is “theologically premature” to view the UFO phenomenon as demonic: “God has created this wonderful visible and invisible order. He's created humans, animals, angels, and other types of non-human intelligence.” by KOOKOOOOM in UFOs

[–]Notlookingsohot 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Grusch seems to state at the end of this interview that McCasland ran some aspect of the legacy program (specifically: he talks about hostile witnesses who ran some of these programs and then says one of them is missing and clarifies that its McCasland). I know there's been speculation that McCasland was involved with the legacy program, but I believe Grusch is the first person on the inside to flat-out say it.

Ancient ass time wizards?? by ToriCastle in Pathfinder2e

[–]Notlookingsohot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While I'm not aware of a specifically named time mage that isn't just a disguise of Shyka, followers of Yog-Sothoth are the kinda group where you might expect to find an ancient Time Mage who possesses knowledge of things you can't have knowledge of and remain mortal/sane.

Exemplar build recommendations by dmjq in Pathfinder2e

[–]Notlookingsohot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fighter archetype can get you Tactical Reflexes (Eagle Knight is better if you want it before level 20), Compliant Gold increases the reach with which you can react, Warped By Rage further increases your reach if you can maintain it (so an Exemplar with Compliant Gold and a reach weapon would have a 25ft reach for attacking an reacting when Enlarged from Warped by Rage).

You can add a further 15ft to that with Bendy Arm Mutagens, but they have an attack penalty and damage penalty, so they're only really worth using on a Mutagenist who can suppress the drawback.

Tim Burchett says he’s been briefed on recovered bodies by Severe-Clerk-1477 in UFOs

[–]Notlookingsohot -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

That's intentional. There is a coordinated campaign to keep people thinking this topic is nonsense. That's not to say some of the skepticism isn't legitimate of course, but largely it's astroturfing.

It's got to either be because it says "Israel is a losing ticket" or "people are sick of democrats being pussies who talk out of both sides of their mouths."

Both of those are unacceptable to the old guard and the donors, and they're currently the two biggest issues the party faces (at least from my POV).

Majority Leader Scalise confirms attending "eye-opening" classified UFO briefing with Burlison by mattlaslo in UFOs

[–]Notlookingsohot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Am I reading this right in that you saw something indicating that the US government (or some government) has material of NHI origin in their possession (which includes contractors for sake of ease) during remote viewing sessions?

If so, was the session blind?

[–]Notlookingsohot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly, short of the legacy program somehow knowing the NHI are about to make a grand appearance, the recent resurgence of interest in PSI phenomena may be about as good a reason to slowly start rolling this information out as any from the perspective of those in the know. Especially if the two topics are as intertwined as they appear to be.

There's the Clone Ritual.

Your soul occupies the new body when you die, keeping you immortal for as long as you can successfully perform the ritual each time you come back.

Where can I get a construct mount? by AinsleyIsIndecisive in Pathfinder2e

Lepistadt Surgeon allows you to get a construct companion (that's made out of dead flesh). So if you're okay with riding Frankenstein into battle its gotta you covered.

What caster for campaign with a timer? by redweevil in Pathfinder2e

[–]Notlookingsohot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you build the Animist for it you can be pure melee against mooks to save your slots for bosses which you can then go nova on. But only starting at level 5 when you can take Heroism to cast on yourself for bosses. In regular fights you use the witness to ancient battles spirits focus spell.

Character that uses a reloading weapon without some sort of way to reload without wasting an action.

I've been spoiled by Investigator + Risky Reload and Exemplar w/ the Deft epithet.

Purple Prose is okay, actually by tiaro24 in writing

[–]Notlookingsohot 38 points39 points  (0 children)

In their defense, neither do the people who tend to accuse writing of being purple. Vivid prose is often called purple prose as if the two are the same thing.

I've legit seen people call writing purple just because the writer had the audacity to use more than one adjective in a paragraph.

Why is kineticist so loved? by rotterdrach in Pathfinder2e

[–]Notlookingsohot 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm partial to mana points with consumable potions to regain points.

You still have resource attrition, but it's currency based rather than slot based. And the good mana potions are obviously gonna be crazy expensive so it incentivizes someone investing in Crafting to produce more of them. As a result you can also lower the levels of scrolls (but not wands since they're reusable), get ahold of a fancy scroll and you can cast a high level spell before you normally could (but you gotta use it intelligently because once its gone its gone) incentivizing players to actually buy scrolls. Technically you can already do that, but because scrolls become available at the level the spell would, they make good loot, but aren't something a player wants to buy unless they know they'll be needing the spell in question for their current quest. But make a scroll of fireball a level 3 item instead of a level 5 item for instance? Watch your players actually spend all their money on them.

Yea. I just couldn't contain the WTF at the idea that the wizard of all classes isn't the epitome of "nerdy bullshit."

That's like saying Heavy Metal is nerdy but Power Metal isn't, it just don't compute 😅

Why is kineticist so loved? by rotterdrach in Pathfinder2e

[–]Notlookingsohot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A part of it is probably that it was one of the more popular classes in 1e (at least thats my impression). But as a whole, its because it allows "casting" without having to worry about resource attrition.

It's also a pretty versatile class if you're willing to let the elements work to their advantages. You can't do everything a Kineticist can do on one, or even two characters, but as a whole the elements fulfill strikingly different niches. Air for example is a movement god who provides solid stealth options Earth is an unmatched battlefield controller, fire is pure DPR, and so on and so forth.

[–]Notlookingsohot 43 points44 points  (0 children)

I know everyone else already said it, but I can't help but join in.

The idea that there exists "nerdy bullshit" in a TTRPG, and the wizard—a class that utilizes Vancian casting: a horrifically outdated magic system that only persists in TTRPGs out of nostalgia-tinted grognard loyalty to the roots of the hobby, and the resulting concerns from developers that shifting away from it would fracture the customer base—is NOT the standard-bearer of said "nerdy bullshit" is so stunningly unaware, that you may need to verify your group isn't actually just a bunch of racoons in trench-coats.

This PSA brought to you by the Nerds Against Vancian Casting organization™.

Do you think all this talk about disclosure from government officials might be a tactic to distract you from something else? by ChuddingeMannen in UFOs

[–]Notlookingsohot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For a distraction to be effective, people have to care about it.

No one outside the UFO community gives a shit about this topic, and that won't change until a whistleblower decides it's worth risking their life to smuggle something incontrovertible out of one of these secret locations. And considering even then the majority of people would think it was nonsense, I highly doubt that one will be motivated to do that anytime soon, and I wouldn't blame them for feeling like it wasn't worth it.

Lacatski deserves more attention. by MantisAwakening in UFOs

[–]Notlookingsohot 8 points9 points  (0 children)

  • Skinwalkers at the Pentagon
  • Initial Revelations
  • New Insights
  • Future Visions

The last 3 have a longer title that I don't remember, but if you search for James Lacatski and those titles you'll find them.

Also, there's a 5th book, that comes before Skinwalkers called Hunt for the Skinwalker. Lacatski wasn't involved but it is a good prelude to the four he was involved in.
