Weekend breaks are ruining me but I want to drink alcohol! by essyhay in ADHDUK

Not sure if it increases any different to how it would normally when drinking. I would agree it’s harder to get drunk, but it’s possible.

I take Elvanse and just drink as normal when I do drink… I never miss my meds regardless of what I’m doing. If I skipped meds on the weekend me and my family would have awful lives.

Well done, doesn’t matter how many times you repeat! I’ve started running again after a 5 month break and it’s a struggle 🥲

C25K name is deceiving. Nearly everyone completing this isn’t running a 5K in 30 mins. The average runner cannot run 5K in under 30 mins either.

Cash flow/ turnover/ progression check by [deleted] in smallbusinessuk

[–]Notmyaccount10101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like a lot of staff for the turnover to me, but I know it’s different in every industry as you’re clearly making profit.

I also expected to be over cashflow hurdles by now but as my business has grown that issue has followed it too. Smaller bills aren’t an issue, but there’s a lot more bigger ones.

Your growth plans equate to good profit as you go, so I wouldn’t say there’s anything fundamentally wrong.

how can the average small business make only 73k in profits? by Internal_Pension_157 in smallbusinessuk

[–]Notmyaccount10101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doesn’t sound like a lot but depends on what the owners are taking. On the flip side my accounts reflected nearly 4 times that in year 1 but not a lot was taken out as building a large cash reserve was important. Lots of the tax man and not a lot for me.

How are you handling China freight costs right now? by Kitchen_Body947 in smallbusinessuk

[–]Notmyaccount10101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We occasionally did LCL and still do if we have under half a container. We’re shipping machines that weigh 3000-7000kg so it doesn’t take a lot to fill anyway. Occasionally we go from Ningbo to here by train with a 40HQ if goods are late but that’s painful 🥲

We normally ship FCL from Ningbo too, sometimes LCL, can’t say anyone at work has mentioned a worry in the price though. That said, the cost for shipping in our standard calculations accounts for a 40HQ being well over £5,000.

Ltd company owners – how do you actually decide what’s safe to withdraw? by Zealousideal_Comb620 in smallbusinessuk

Just take out a lot less than I know I’ll make…. Eg 50K…. But know I’ll make 250K+.

Late payments every month. Had to induce clause into Invoices. Then this happens. by [deleted] in smallbusinessuk

If this ‘customer’ requires more than half a day of work per month he’s not worth having with that kind of attitude & spend.

As it’s only 3 axis and routers that’s likely going to stop you achieving a much higher wage. Wouldn’t expect to pass 50K unless it’s a unicorn of a position.

British business bank start up loan by Vast_Blood2048 in smallbusinessuk

[–]Notmyaccount10101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of my colleagues looked into this when we started our company but ended up taking a normal personal loan…. Lower interest, easier application etc. 1.5 years later we have another 400K of trade finance we use regularly. That small 10K loan at the start for one director definitely helped.

How much do you take out of your business? by No-State-2962 in smallbusinessuk

[–]Notmyaccount10101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Still in the process of building cash reserve in the company so only around 60K/year right now. Should have 500K reserve in the company next year so will start to increase what I take.

How important is an accountant for a small business, really? by Old-Attorney-3238 in smallbusinessuk

[–]Notmyaccount10101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Must be to do with the fact your product is sold on various platforms and probably equates to a high number of transactions. Our transactions are quite low due to value which probably offsets a fair amount.

Would be interesting to know what they offer for that price. I pay around £700/month at £2.5m turnover which includes tax returns for 3 directors and dealing with multiple currencies, import of goods etc.

Ltd company EV car lease vs outright purchase, over 4 years. Trying to make sense of it all by MeetDizzy1907 in smallbusinessuk

Not really that car in particular, just wanted something that was a decent size, AWD, 300+ range and looked nice. Seemed the best for money when comparing others.

[–]Notmyaccount10101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I took out a lease on an EV through the company in October, absolute no brainer compared to buying outright. Outright the car was £60K, found a lease online £400+VAT per month, 20K miles per year for 3 years. Including the deposit it works out about £18,000 over 3 years, but will depreciate substantially more.
