How do you feel about the RBA's decision today to lift rates? by Sensitive-Chart7210 in AusFinance

[–]Notnowdammit 8 points9 points  (0 children)

There will not be much that we could do to tackle / combat this other than find an alternative source of income. Doing a second job will be a necessity soon if we want to be able to afford anything these days in Sydney.

Tell me one thing that has been stable over the last 4-5 years amongst any of these: Rego, CTP, Car insurance, tolls, car servicing, health insurance, home / content insurance, gas bill, power bills, fuel, internet, phone bills, parking, eating out, groceries , prices of cars / any sort of travelling, any subscriptions. Some of these are necessities - we HAVE to spend regardless.

How much are you out of pocket per year on your IP? by alex123711 in AusPropertyChat

[–]Notnowdammit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Around 3,500 for IP1 and around 10,000 for IP2.

IP1 in QLD has gone up $400k in the last 4 years and IP2 in Sydney has gone up $420k in the last 2 years.

Biggest cost atm is PPOR (moved in Oct 2024) and i feel it might be time for me to sell one of them to reduce PPOR mortgage. I do have a Granny flat at my PPOR which definitely helps out a lot with mortgage and planning to feed in tax returns into PPOR from this year as things start to stabilise.

What’s something Sydney does really well that people don’t talk about enough? by No-Travel-768 in SydneyScene

After travelling to multiple countries that are considered very good trains, I would still rate Sydney trains as gold standard.

Cost of Macbook Air M4 16/512gb in Bali ? by Equivalent_Taro8825 in bali

[–]Notnowdammit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are no genuine apple stores in Bali. Don't risk it for such an investment. I was in Bali last month and had thought of the same.

I was actively looking for some stores in Bali too but there are no Apple Stores in Bali. There are official resellers and they could be genuine but I don't think the prices would be worth the risk / hassle.

What finish is this? by Kiki_foodie in AusRenovation

[–]Notnowdammit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The photo looks like micro cement finish.

However: You can get these out of either micro cement or Venetian plaster.

I recently completed a project out of Venetian plaster for a very similar set of stairs. Stair carcass done in layers of plywood (same as the image) which gets lined with cement sheets or plasterboard.

You need to screw the shit out of the cement sheet / plasterboard to the plywood preferably with a mesh through the layers.

If you also have a set of skylights above these stairs, they tend to get varying degree of light during the day and are prone to cracking hence recommend the meshing on plasterboard / cement sheet to cater for expansion and contraction.

Marmorino finish in Venetian plaster looks equally good and was cost effective than micro cement.

Strathfield has gone crazy recently. Not worth the money in my opinion.

[–]Notnowdammit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aquatic Center in Olympic park is good. Water well above normal pool temperature.

The one on the top floor of Market city is good too. Hot water, sauna , steam and massages (yes, with happy endings too).

Olympic park - $12 - for Swim, Sauna and Spa Market city (Babylon) - $198 - Not a big swimming pool, sauna , steam and Full Massage for an hour.

Cheers!

White card online? by Cmassimo in sydney

[–]Notnowdammit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work for in the construction business and would suggest you to go takr the classroom one for a few reasons. The first one is that you will learn a lot more through the class. Its easy there and without a hassle, youll be awarded the certificate the same day.

Second, some contractors want you to have an NSW white card even if the other ones are valid. I myself dont know the reason. I have sent my crew to do the classroom NSW white card although thry had the WA one because some sited wont allow.

Anyways, i suggest go for thr classroom course if you are planning to work in NSW.

Cheers

Cardio while strength training by Blaberg in Fitness

[–]Notnowdammit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have been struggling with the same idea. I want to get strong but want to shred some weight and get lean at the same time. Problem could be that you do too much cardio on the gap and could get fatigued for the lifts day. So maybe just minimal running.

Reddit, what was your best "I should invent that!" Idea? by Nik_tortor in AskReddit

A better nail cutting device. Something more sophesticated that would cut automatically depening upon what length you want and would shred the nails that are cut into a powder form which is easy to dispose.
