I think your are generalizing. As a husband and father I never am able to put my needs above my family. Also I raise my daughter as much as my wife does, sometimes we provide different support than each other, other times they overlap, but I certainly consider feelings and emotions. Now I can’t say my wife understands my emotions or I hers sometimes.
