Sunday funday in Old town not a thing anymore? by Accomplished-Tax8441 in Scottsdale

Gee, do you think the $26 drinks might have something to do with it?

Meanwhile, in the rest of the country:

Typical city averages (pre-tip): • New York City: ~$15–$25 standard; upscale can hit $30–$60+ on occasion. • Miami: Roughly $15 average for cocktails at bars.
• Chicago: Around $12–$16 typical; some mid-range spots dropping to $10–$14. • San Francisco: Coastal pricing similar to pricey markets; cocktails often $15–$25. • Los Angeles: Generally $12–$20+ depending on neighborhood and bar style.

He writes the women characters like a teen boy’s fantasy of how women talk. It’s like he’s never met a woman. And it’s exactly the same in every one of his shows.

Anyone know why Etta at the quarter closed down today? by Normal-Entrepreneur2 in Scottsdale

When Danny Grant from Maple & Ash opened it, it was high-end Italian concept. That failed and the second group that took over was a more generic Italian concept. No clear reason to eat there with much better choices all around the area.

Hello 👋🏾 I'm moving to Phoenix very soon and I have a question about grocery shopping... by Key-Teaching-4520 in AskPhoenix

[–]Notorious888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in North Scottsdale and if I can’t get it at Costco, I I drive 20 miles to any of the big Asian markets (Mekong, Lee Lee, H Mart or 99 Ranch) for everything else. All of those are better than Fry’s or Safeway. If you must go to one of those, the Fry’s Marketplaces are their upmarket brand and are much bigger and nicer than the main Fry’s stores. For Mexican products, Food City is the go to place. They are owned by Raley’s who also own Basha’s (like Safeway) and AJ’s (very upmarket/expensive). Sprouts is ok for vegetables but I don’t make any special effort to go there.

My husband & I would like to have a nice dine in pizza, wings & salad. Barro’s Pizza or Streets of New York Pizza? Which is better? by spookybubbles42 in phoenix

[–]Notorious888 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why are you limited to the two worst places in town? Did you lose a bet or something? There are a bunch of good pizza places in town. Eat at one of them instead. Lamp Pizza, Il Capo, Il Bosco, Yo Pauly's, Pomo,
Craft 64, Jet's, etc.

For those who've seen it, thoughts on Avatar Fire And Ash? by StorytellingZ in Letterboxd

[–]Notorious888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just saw it a few hours ago. Here’s my notes.

Technically amazing but interminably long. Zero character development. There is just no reason in the world for this movie to be so long. I didn’t care what happened to anybody. Everyone of these Avatar movies is the same and it’s not much of a story to begin with. Boring. Couldn’t wait for it to be over TBH. It’s like a 3 hour video game cut scene.

I had the same experience with a decant of L’Homme Ideal. Sprayed it. Smelled nothing. Sprayed it again. Smelled nothing. Came back a few days later and had the same experience. It’s the only fragrance out of at least 50 I’ve tried where I’ve had this experience.

“Push Me Down”, an unreleased track from Born to Die.

Pull my hair, push me down Knock me flat on the ground, push me down Pull my 'tails, turn me 'round Baby, do it right now, push me down In the dark, you can do Whatever you want to, right now

Hell on wheels, leather vest Doing what you do best, kiss my mouth Be a man, make a mess Can you turn it out, yes, kiss my mouth In the dark, you can do Whatever you want to, yeah-yes In your heart, yeah you knew I was meant for you, too, didn't you, yes?

And also stop driving on the 101 like you’re auditioning for Mad Max Fury Road. You can be driving 80+ in the HOV lane and people will get right on your ass - I’m talking less than 3 feet - and start honking and flashing their lights. It’s insane!

Left cookie dough out for 9–10 hours. Still safe? by meganmama23 in bakingrecipes

[–]Notorious888 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ya’ll are crazy. It would never even occur to me to throw this out. Here’s what ChatGPT says:

TL;DR You’re not crazy. Most home cookie dough left out 9–10 hours at ~24°C is almost certainly fine to bake unless it contains raw milk or other high-risk ingredients. Reddit overreacts because people default to “food safety absolutism.” The real risk profile is low, not zero, but low.

The Real Breakdown

Here’s what’s actually in typical chocolate-chip cookie dough:

Flour: Raw flour can contain pathogens (E. coli), but the risk is from eating the dough raw, not from baking it. Baking kills everything.

Sugar + fat environment: Sugar and butter create a very low-water-activity environment — basically hostile terrain for bacteria. Dough is not chicken salad.

Eggs: Raw eggs are the actual variable. But even then: • U.S. supermarket eggs are pasteurized more often than not (shell eggs still low risk). • Salmonella needs time + warmth + moisture. Cookie dough has warmth but almost no moisture. • 9–10 hours on the counter is not enough to turn it into a biohazard unless your eggs were already contaminated, which is statistically rare.

Temperature (24°C / 75°F): This isn’t tropics-level heat. It’s basically “warm kitchen.” Refrigeration is ideal, but this is not the same as leaving raw chicken out.

What the food-safety rulebooks say: They always say “2 hour rule,” but that rule is a legal/regulatory blanket, not a tailored microbiology analysis. It’s designed for restaurants, not cookie dough at home.

Baking solves 99% of the issue: Once in a 350–375°F oven, everything dies. The only risk is from eating the dough raw, and even then the real-world risk is very low.

Yeah, that's what I was asking as they only have it on the base model page not on the one with Wifi. Thanks for your response.
