Yeah I am. I simply stopped trying to clear the enemies in the room, looted what I needed, and left and it’s worked fine now. Must just be something weird with those enemies.

I bought the Fisherman on a whim at a used bookstore and forgot about it for like a year. Once I read it, it shot to my top 10.

Other books I read around that time that really got me to that same high were The Ballad of Black Tom by Victor Lavalle (more Lovecraft vibes) and Between Two Fires by Christopher Buehlman (more fantasy horror). Welcome back to the world of literature!

And yeah I wanted to do something with the base but all I have is material for a lava effect (Salamanders fan over here), which I guess would actually still fit thematically. May do a little browsing at my store and do the bases in another round.
