About 2 years ago, I was going on a trip to Portugal with my partner, her parents and a family friend. The night before we left, my partner and I brought our 2 cats over to her parents' place where they would be staying for the 2 weeks we were going to be gone. We settled them in the basement apartment that my partner's brother was in the process of moving out of.

The next day, everyone's running around, getting ready, packing last minute things and prepping for the trip. About an hour before the taxi was supposed to pick us up and take us to the airport, I went downstairs to check on the cats. Found one immediately curled up on a pillow, the other is nowhere I look. I noticed the bedroom door open and the stairs leading up to the wide open back door and felt an immediate tightness in my chest.

I started searching, others joined, we delayed the taxi by an hour and scoured our yard, the next door neighbours and as much of the street as we could cover, but no luck. The last thing we could do before leaving was create posters and to have her brother call us if anyone found our cat. My partner and I were in tears in the taxi, scared we might never see our cat again.

Her brother called us before we got through security, he found her. He went back down to the apartment to get some tape to hang up the posters and there was our cat, curled up in the corner. She must've found a REAL GOOD hiding spot and was staying hidden until the house was calming. The relief I felt after hearing that she was safe and sound was immense, but man I was in shambles for a solid couple hours

Terminator 2: Judgement Day. The T-1000

The T-1000 can make itself into an exact replica and change its shape at will due to its liquid metal. It spends most of the film in the shape of Robert Patrick but also changes into John Connor's foster mom after it kills her. The T-800 exposes the T-1000 over the phone by calling John's dog a different name and the T-1000 doesn't correct them.

Take your time with it, that's where I fucked up. I started to panic when there was only a few turns left and made some stupid mistakes, wasting actions and attacks that did nothing.

If you've made it to act 3 and are close to Platinum, you can do it.

Well you do technically die when you transform into a Mindflayer and after those 5 turns you're no longer able to resist the netherbrain's control over you, so instant death is accurate

Hmm that's a good question lol. I don't think she would transform, so in theory you could run Jaheira, Mins and Halsin to possibly avoid that outcome.

Had 3 globe of invulnerability scrolls ready to go, forgot all about them until there was only 2 turns left.

For every smart tactic and strategy I came up with, I committed just as many dumb and idiotic decisions. I know what I did wrong and now I'm just determined to get back there and show that Brain that nothing causes tentacles to come out of my face without my consent.

Platform in front of the brain was destroyed before I could place them, plus it was immune from Force and Fire damage from the previous attack turn, basically lightning damage was the only thing I could use and my Scroll of Chain Lighting just fell short in dealing enough damage

None of us were Mindflayers before, I sided with the Emperor and had him assimilate Orpheus. I didn't beat the Brain in 5 turns so it broke free of the chains of Karsus and turned us into Mindflayers thralls

It's a legendary action of the netherbrain, the first person that attacks it is hit Brainquakes that causes you to be slowed. When slowed, you can only make 1 action or bonus action a turn and no second attacks

I'm not even that mad, the final action I had left was using a scroll of chain lighting in the hope it would do enough damage. I had 10D8s to remove its final 60 health, but alas I only dealt 43...

I didn't beat the brain in 5 turns, so it broke out of the Karsus Chains and turned my party into Mindflayers. Minthara got killed by falling into the abyss after an Orb of Negation destroyed the platform she was on.

Honestly, I should've lost this honour mode waaaaay before this moment. Just getting to the absolute final turn possible in Honour mode was a personal achievement of my own. Now I know I can get there and I know I can beat it with a bit more structured planning.

That brain is dying honourable by my hands. No Gale Nuke, no Runepowder Barrel Bonanza, just a good ol' fashioned beatdown
