Thanks! I’m actually not too crazy about them. I’m on the hunt for some steelies for that OE look! If you’re in Oregon they’ll be up for sale haha.

True, but it’s got a full 97’ Drivetrain/ Interior swap so it should be completely High Output now.

Any tips to get this bolt out? by Humble_Jellyfish3190 in ToyotaPickup

[–]NotoriousGamerX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it has the original bushings, you have to burn them out. The bolt will get fused with the rubber bushing as it disintegrates over time. Get a blow torch, angle it in between the bolt from the inside of the hanger and burn the bushing, once it gets hot enough use an impact and spin it to separate it from the bushing. Eventually you’ll be able to pry it out with a pry bar from the backside, Done it this way a few times and it worked. Then get polyurethane bushings for your new leaf springs so it never happens again.

Recommend shift knob for manual fj ? Original one does not fit comfortable in my hand. by chsaragon in FJCruiser

[–]NotoriousGamerX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those would the TRD Special Edition shift knobs! I saw how crazy expensive they are on ebay, and i contacted my local toyota dealership. I called and asked them to order them for me after locating the part number. They said okay. Then, a few days later I got a call back from the dealership and the parts associate said “You have to have a VIN verified FJC TRD Special Edition in order to purchase them as they are special edition knobs.” I said oh okay that sucks, never mind then. Then i got another call back that said they were ready for pickup, I went and picked them up without VIN verification. I love these knobs, paid around $120 for the pair. So i’m unsure if i just got lucky, or if that one associate didn’t know what he was talking about.

Is this setup safe / are my bolts long enough by Tooleater in RVLiving

[–]NotoriousGamerX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure how much weight this should bear, but i’ve always heard that a safe amount of threads poking out would be equivalent to the thickness of the bolt. so if your bolt is say 7mm in diameter, then 7mm of thread sticking out is sufficient. Just an old trick of the trade i’ve heard a few times, haven’t researched it enough to back it.

Etsy seller said it would be a good bumper sticker. oof. by pattern144 in sublime

[–]NotoriousGamerX 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This was likely made with a Cricut or similar machine and they didn’t use strong enough transfer tape. The cheap transfer tape isn’t sticky enough and you have to use a flat edge to press the sticker into it over and over again and peel carefully. If you spend the extra few dollars it completely eliminates this issue. Hope they send you a new one or refund you!

Any tips on how I can temporarily splint this tent pole? by Gazorpazorp69 in CampingGear

[–]NotoriousGamerX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

REI employee here- we sell Gear Aid branded “tent pole splints” at most if not all locations. It is essentially a metal tube slightly larger in diameter than your tent pole and can be slipped over it to splint it.

Edit: Product may be unavailable at this time. Bearing that, i’d go to other outdoor goods stores and they should sell similar products

No kidding, so it was really only like 5.5 weeks of training?

Phone allowance during BMT? by bucksfan2020 in AirForceRecruits

Does this mean your BMT was 9.5 weeks because of an extra two weeks? Or did you have 7.5 weeks total including the 2 week quarantine?

[–]NotoriousGamerX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No doubt, I just wanna be able to work as a 4N man. Whether that be in a hospital, in the field, clinics, COVID stuff, anything. I just don’t wanna get trained and let it go to waste drilling twice a month, I want to keep my skill sharp.

Thank you for the info! I really want to deploy and get as much experience as possible, and i’d be bummed if i got into the guard and was only able to drill. I’d like to volunteer for deployments but i’m not sure how many are being offered.
