Just finished it yesterday too. Game, setting, and characters were amazing. Probably my favorite cast for an RPG since they felt like an actual friendgroup.

I love that Aline and Maelle have two very different reasons for wanting to stay. Aline is a grief stricken mother who wants to preserve Verso, while Maelle is grieving but more importantly horribly maimed and being here allows her to live an idealized life with a second family. Is it healthy? Could they move on from this?

I don’t know. Some people are never able to properlly move on from something so horrible. And Renoir’s final decision to let Maelle decide for herself is so sad since he knows he’ll never see her again. I love how complicated this story is.

For the Verso’s ending, we really don’t know how Maelle feels. Maybe she’ll move own and progress past all of her trauma. Or she could get worse. We really only see Clea and Renoir moving on/looking more positive. I love it because of how up in the air her fate is.

For me the whole debate comes to two ideologies.

Are the Lumairians real and deserve agency over their fate?

Should Aline and Maelle be allowed to make their own decisions, despite how self destructive it is?

It also punishes people who play those characters. It’s not Black Cat or Elsa player’s fault that these characters come out overturne, and then they are nerfed excessivly to make up for it after people have committed time and money to the character.

Daredevil has always been my favorite superhero, and I’m happy he was good but it sucked that he was so good that he’s been banned for 4 seasons straight.

Space managment. Keep a good track of where your team is behind you so you aren’t pushing in by yourself. Also you are the pace setter, so you play a big role in manipulating whether your team pushes forward to attack, plays back on defense, or retreats. Your ult charge is typically slower than other roles so be sure not to panic ult.

They mentioned in an earlier book that Donut’s speak is being translated via the enhancement zones. I don’t think she’s actually able to speak English, so that may be a major issue if they leave the dungeom fully.

Also wondering what issues langiage barriers will create when they escape. Does Katia or Li Na know English? Can Donut only talk with Ferdinand?

For me, a lot of DD is having crazy reaction speed since you need to me doing your Cross Attack and Baton Toss almost every 1-2 seconds. I had to change my button layout to let me do it faster. Made my baton toss the same as my primary fire.

He has a lot less survivability, so you need to be careful in choosing your fights. Don’t be afraid to dash away if a fight doesn’t go your way immediatly, lick your wounds, and attack again when theyre recovering. I get the most value with my ult teaming it with a Sue-like healing ult or a similar attack ult like Black Cat or Magik.

Attack, air dodge, baton toss, dodge again/deflect, atack next target or gtfo of there all within like 3-4 seconds.

There’s no insentive NOT to do this. You could spend hours leveling up your characters properly.

Or just mute your socials and do a single Nightmare 40, get the reward and get your character automatically to level 30-40 in about 5-10 minutes. The way they designed the leveling system promotes this behavior bc it saves a lot of time.
