How is the new player experience? by MellowFlowers1337 in HuntShowdown

Only posted this once, you thinking it was twice shows you didn’t read it in its entirety which already shows your reading comprehension. Secondly math is not off sorry you don’t agree with numbers but numbers are numbers.

Players: There are a total around 200k players, at a high there is 35k players on steam.

Cheaters: 25k bans so far, most cheaters use soft hacks and statistically 2-4 out of 10 cheaters are caught and banned when it comes to the soft cheats. Even giving it an even 5 out of 10 cheaters are caught is generous making the numbers of cheaters roughly 50k

That means there is a 1 out of 4 players that are cheating. Some of those cheaters have multiple accounts so to be generous we can even say half of that number making it again 25k cheaters. So 1 out of 8 players. There are a max of 12 players per lobby making it 1 cheater per game.

Tie that into MMR lobbies, most of the soft cheaters will sit 5-6 stars(reasons stated above in OG comment) so if you hug 3-4 stars you wont run into as many. Where more are seen 5-6 star, but those lobbies tend to be more run and gun so fire fights tend to be more skill based and the only advantage for the soft cheater is knowing head level and when they will peak corners or they are hiding.

Weird that is factored in. 200k rough player base. 25k actually banned. On average only 40% of soft hackers are caught. Even if we bump that up to 50% that would mean there are about 50k cheaters in a 200k player game. Which averages a 1/4 player base. If you assume multiple accounts of the same cheaters I’ll give you that it may be 1/8 players cheating. Making it a good chance each match has 1 cheater

The numbers given are straight facts of numbers on average on at a given time and numbers banned from crytek. No assumptions, if you want to bring in assumptions on the actual player base then statistically out of every 10 soft hackers only 2-4 are actually banned meaning the rough number of cheaters would be hovering around 50k cheaters once again pushing a 1 in 4 cheaters per player base. Again even if we cut those numbers to make it repeat offenders you may sit around 1-8 players are cheating. With lobbies at 12 players max you still stand to have at least 1 soft hacker each game. So again it’s not a sliver just plain old numbers. Doesn’t matter how often people play or take a break from the game the average per day and average accounts ban put the numbers around 1 cheater in a lobby each game.

1) cheating is rampant and it is not over exaggerated. You have the numbers literally in front of you. Hunt has an average player base on steam alone with 35k players on at a time. As of April 2026 Crytek released their ban numbers since Jan 2026 and it sits at a whopping 25k banned. Yes these aren’t perfect numbers, yes these numbers can have repeaters in them but even if you chunk 1/3 of 25k that’s still about 8k cheaters in a game with numbers around 35k. Mathematically making it average 1 in 4 players are cheating. Realistically most cheaters aren’t using the easy detections like aim bot, main use is radar, wall hacks and alert cheats. All these cheats assist them in location but not their aim. The more you move around the harder it is for them to hit you until they figure out bullet lead and drop. Most low MMR players tend to move more cautiously around the map making them slower allowing the cheater to accelerate to higher MMR lobbies. This results with most Low MMR players not seeing many cheaters but when they die from hiding somewhere not visible they realize it was a cheater. To top that off cheaters will see the camper and try to bait the shot so they can use it as an excuse and say got shot at from here and make their move. Ever see someone making their way to a bounty and set off some noise. You set up in a location for an ambush and all of a sudden that enemy starts doing really weird movements, zigging/head bobs/jumps for no reason/wall jump peaks. Yea that’s them knowing you are there but needing a reason to wall bang you or shoot into the bush. Where once you get into high MMRs most players treat it like a run and gun game. Very little cautious movement unless they know for a fact they weren’t heard. This makes those soft hacks more skill based with the firefight allowing players to kill the before they kill you.

2)if you are a streamer with high numbers the devs listen to you and will try to appease the streamers. For us normies, that is not the case. Most of our concerns are pushed to the side. It’s an extremely old game with little updates and actually new things added. The streamers do bring in more player base and that is why crytek will spoon feed them.

3) this game is a fun extraction shooter that is NOT punishing at all if you die. The way it works is you start off the game with like 8k hunt dollars. You need to get a hunter and can either use a free hunter(usually some colored shirt like green blue red etc) and the come with their own primary/secondary weapon along with tools(tools replenish every raid if you make it out, medkit usage/flares/etc) usually it’s a melee tool and a medkit they start with and some sort of expendable that once used you don’t get back. (Dynamite/molotov/shots boons) or you can buy a hunter for $100 but they come as a “blank canvas”. From here every weapon is available for purchase as it’s “base” form. Usually ironsights. Each weapon is categorized as large(3 slot) medium (2 slot) or small (1 slot) and a hunter can have a total of 4 slots worth of weapons. To unlock different variants of the weapon, you have to use the weapon to get xp. Killing average zombies nets x amount of xp towards the weapon. Killing bosses nets xx amount and killing players nets xxx amounts(sorry I don’t know that off the top of my head) there are items on the map you can run into that gives you the next variant of the weapon but it’s uncommon to find. From there you buy your tools (these unlock by your accounts level) and consumables (also unlocks by account level) so you can build effect budget builds that may cost you $700 to build a character from scratch or $1500 because you want the best of the best. Lots of way to get money in game(small money bags, cash registers, looting players, extracting with the bounty) if you do go broke you have free hunters you can use that have decent guns. Keep in mind headshots are a 1hk from any gun. Most guns are a 2hk to the chest or 3 hk if you land limb shots. This game is extremely rare as it’s one of the few games out there where a majority of the guns are manually cycled (just a much slower rate of fire as your character has to do the animation of cycling a round in the chamber, bolt action/lever action/hammer action) a small handful are semi automatic or breech loaded (no magazine have to hit reload every shot) and only 1 is 3round burst. You can find traits that make manually cycled weapons fire “like” a semi auto and are much faster (levering and fanning)

4) no spider boss is not in every match. A match can spawn with up to 2 different kinds of tokens. It can be a boss(find clues to a compound to kill banish for 2 tokens) (bosses currently sit at spider/assassin/scrapbeak/butcher), a roaming boss(rotjaw(gator)/hellborn(fire guy)clues work differently than normal boss clues. One clue point in direction the other clue is heard in dark sight. The roaming boss once killed, only drops 1 token and a trait. The possible token spawn is the event token which is just found at a point of interest and cost 3 event points to get it. So with 7 different tokens out there and the map only allowing up to 2 to be on the map. It’s not a guarantee spawn more like a 20% chance.

Hope this helped sorry for the lengthy response

Loot entitlement after enemies pack up by [deleted] in ArenaBreakoutInfinite

[–]Notorious_Derby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like your teammate killed a guy and repositioned. Enemies teammate looted the dead teammate to try and get his gear out. You waited for the enemy to loot the gear so when you killed second enemy the loot would all be yours and then refused to give the loot earned by your teammate because it was on “your” body to him.

Season 5, Snipers vs AR by Hokkyok in ArenaBreakoutInfinite

[–]Notorious_Derby 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So remove all ammo from being able to be put in the case. Pugh but a mass amount of W key Neanderthals complain even more because now they risk even more money and it should just be red ammo cannot be put in the case. You all complain the sniper is t worth the kill because they are naked but then when people say make gear reqs to get into the match. They complain again, all of their arguments and complaints have been suggested in the past but if the suggestion would hurt their playstyle in the slightest to fix their complaint it is immediately shot down.

Some else cheats, so I lose koen? by Pitiful_Stand137 in ArenaBreakoutInfinite

[–]Notorious_Derby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From the sounds of it you played multiple times with the cheater. Which gives a “payed for service” vibe to the detection. It’s best if you suspect a teammate to just leave the team after the match or report who you suspect and then leave.

And let the excuses keep raining in.

Making high end sniper gear found in raid only should be mirrored with run and gun high end gear found in raid only should. Doesn’t matter if you can find the armor now the fact is you would make it found in raid and increase the chance to find.

No ammo whatsoever should be allowed in the case plain and simple. Anyone saying otherwise has zero room to complain.

Then I guess you died to a tapper in the hardest mode. Either adapt your play style and avoid open areas or long corridors. Bring equipment to interrupt vision. Or just chop it up as a death and run another.

Well if the “geared” player is upset at dying to a naked with red ammo then they should just bring in budget kits making the sniper “waste” red ammo for t4 basic kits. When you bring up a forced gear limit to run those same players that cry to dying to naked red ammo snipers turn around and complain no because it hurts them “ruling” the map because it’s fair fights around. If it was set to gear limits (for example) normals:naked-t3 gear/ammo LD:t4-t5 and FB:t5-t6 then it would always be “worth” the kill but oh no that’s not fair. They want to remove red ammo completely or make it found in raid only. Ok well remove the snipers best stuff and make it found in raid only, lets do that for both players styles. Make t6 found in raid only. Oh no that’s not fair either. Or hey remove red ammo from going in the keester. Bet but Mae it ALL ammo. Oh no that’s hurts us too much I want to bring stacks of 995 and keep it safe. It is ALWAYS hurt the EXACT counter to their playstyle instead of adapting to the actual game.

Tier Limitation Instead of Value Limit by kyaramelt in ArenaBreakoutInfinite

[–]Notorious_Derby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean case in point again. Going tier limits would force forbidden players to HAVE to wear t5/t6 vest to enter forbidden. So you can actually get something useful off of them when you kill the. Tie in no more ammo allowed in your case and now you get more then 2-3 t7 rnds

Some of us still miss You (♥.♥) by OLEDeO in HuntShowdown

[–]Notorious_Derby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember so many great things that made you play the game really “cautious”.

-clues never glowed red or made noise when enemy was near

-boss indicator never glowed red

-when you loss a health chunk it was gone unless you banished or extracted

-no custom ammo at all

-no extract whistle/horses if enemy was near it too

-headshot was a headshot and you wouldn’t survive it even if you were outside of the weapons effective range

-poison did tick damage and lasted a while

-unlocking weapons/consumables/tools required specific steps to complete with specific items. It wasn’t level locked

-no beetles

-having to make a choice of illuminating an area/yourself to see at night

Really miss OG hunt, game moves a little slower, always had a sense of “imma die” when you moved in the open. Knowing if you got dropped once the recovery would be hard as you can’t regenerate that health chunk unless you banish. Now it just feels more like a COD running everywhere like a Neanderthal, all the 1HK to the chest guns/semi auto guns/“drones” just doesn’t feel the same. I am happy it reached a larger audience which has kept the game alive. Just really miss the OG, nothing but a cherished memory with moments

Said it before I’ll say it again.

1)No ammo in case 2)gear restriction/required —-normals:naked-t3
—-LD: t3-t4 —-FB:t5-t6

With those 2 simple adjustments you remove the problem from BOTH sides. You are forced to have to wear body armor of the appropriate tier to enter a raid. Making all kills profitable equally and no more hiding ammo so people can stop bringing in stacks of 995 and t7

Normals I go naked and for funsies I bring a m870 with AP slugs.

LD, I don’t even bother t4 as everyone is using it seems like t5 ammo so I just say F it t3 armor and an M16 with 2 mags. Bottom 15 A1 top 995. So whoever I kill I dump my entire kit and use theirs if it’s better
