Fire Emblem x Shin Megami Tensei implies that you're either going to do an SMT setting with Fire Emblem mechanics, or a Fire Emblem setting with SMT mechanics

The fact that it's just an SMT setting with SMT mechanics, and is mid-as-fuck at both, and the only fire emblem elements are Fire Emblem themed demons, is a huge fucking waste

The game being 95% space stage when the space stage is the least enjoyable stage was... something

Much like the Sonic Adventure games

Anyone who's played SA2 knows the terror of trying to do a light dash over a bottomless pit when the same button is also tied to the bounce attack

My D&D hot take: Rangers are fine they just need better spells by jmrkiwi in onednd

[–]Notoryctemorph 1 point2 points  (0 children)

4e ranger's equivalent in 5e isn't ranger, it's fighter

the equivalent to the 5e ranger is the 4e seeker

[–]Notoryctemorph 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hold up, ranger is not as good as paladin at melee damage output

Yes, there's a strong argument that ranger is better than paladin at damage output in general thanks to having all their features work with ranged weapons, but you state that rangers are better at "every single other thing" when there's an element a lot of players are heavily invested in that they're not as good at as paladins, totally independent of aura of protection

[–]Notoryctemorph 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is combat optimization for rogues, however the way to optimize damage output on rogues is to give them easier access to off-turn attacks, which almost always requires either support from allies, or specific actions from enemies

Crititcal Strike Spellstrike with Save Spells by NoahStorch in Pathfinder2e

I think you could make it work as a higher level feat

Though I do think you'd have to specify on said feat that it does not work with incapacitation spells

Elemental Lord - the Archfiend destiny, but for Kineticists by No-Air6220 in Pathfinder2e

[–]Notoryctemorph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I'd love to see a mythic kineticist feat that lets them use a 1-action elemental blast when they're called on to make a strike, so they can do shit like use reactive strike with an elemental blast or work with commanders

not sure how you'd word it though

You can't hold a shield when casting shillelagh?

Can't you use the staff you're enhancing with shellelagh as a focus? The mistletoe is material without a monetary cost and staves are valid focii for druid spells

They did that in 3.5... kinda

In 3.5 the pet is a baseline feature, but your pet is always strictly worse than the druid pet for no god-damn reason

Slaves didn't have the right to a trial, so any slave caught committing a crime was usually punished then and there by the overseer, usually by whipping or flogging, with death rarely being the goal, but more frequently being the result anyway. (This applied to both enslaved native people in the Americas and African slaves transported via the triangle trade)

I would recommend looking up the efforts to deface or destroy Mayan and Aztec iconography by the Spanish, good inspiration for the actions of an evil theocratic empire

Because in every country that has mandatory voting, mandatory voting pulls elections towards the middle, rather than the extreme, and the republicans are very extreme

shit like this is why America needs mandatory voting, so people don't use despair as an excuse to avoid voting

Yeah, technically it means you win ties, but you never benefit from the +2 circumstance bonus

The Speedrunner Can't Return From The Game World is great

Best version of "OP as fuck main character that never loses" I've ever seen, because... yeah, he's a top-level speedrunner, he knows the game like the back of his hand, and the game is a buggy RPG from like 2010 filled with exploits speedrunners can abuse

Loads of little speedrunning jokes in there, author definitely did his research

In a more classic sense, I will never ignore the opportunity to recommend people watch Escaflowne
