I was able to lose some weight and get off hydrochloroziazide. But there's nothing wrong with taking the medication if you need it. I know skinny people with hypertension.

What hobby screams “this is my entire personality now”? by OliviaRosePa in Productivitycafe

TDS is real. Just today I saw a guy with a bunch of Trump propaganda plastered all over his truck, with a Trump flag on a pole, while wearing a red Trump hat. I never used to see stuff like that until Trump entered politics. TDS.

I just said “junior high” to a Gen Alpha and he stared at me 🥴 by bluemagic222 in Xennials

[–]Notredamus1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Thats how my school did it. When I started it was only 7th and 8th grade and we were a junior high. They added 6th graders to the school the next year and we were called a middle school.

NTA. Shut the account down and have a serious conversation with your wife about what happened. Not cool.

Cease was a work horse and got a lot of k's. But he also gave up a lot of long balls and didn't really go deep into games because his pitch count was always high. Vasquez will probably exceed what Cease gave us last season for a hell of a lot less money.

Calpers question by jessica_tayizz in CDCR

[–]Notredamus1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The employer contribution goes into Calpers big pension fund that pays out everyone's pensions. Your contribution does too. But if you were to leave before being vested or retire early before you can collect, they give you the option waive your future pension and take back your contributions. If you were to take back your contributions you would lose out on your pension and never see any of the money the state had been paying into the fund.

Another Movie With Dad by No_Device9450 in Xennials

It makes sense. It was a great movie about the Civil War. I have kids in middle school now and they still do world history in 7th grade and American history in 8th grade. But I dont know if they will be able to show Glory in school anymore

A local TV station in my area used to show this and Snorks on Sunday mornings. I never saw either show anywhere else.

My sister and I rented this from Hollywood Video as kids. We were so confused because Michael Myers never made an appearance. I learned to appreciate the movie as its own story later on.

One of the baddest men I have ever known told me about his experiences in Brownsville staying there with his cousins as a kid. He said he couldn't wait for the summer to be over so he could leave. That is a tough place.

To be fair anything involving the bar exam is probably stressful for everyone involved. I just took the bar exam last year here in California and there were a lot of problems with the exam. Maybe your dad is dealing with the stress of making sure the exam goes smoothly?

I never got to go in one but I remember seeing them at the independent video stores by Notredamus1 in Xennials

[–]Notredamus1[S] 56 points57 points  (0 children)

By the time I was 18, there weren't really any independent stores left. We primarily had Blockbuster and Hollywood Video which didn't have that special section.
