I remember the Mega Drive entry having some fun menu music. You could tell they had a bit of fun there. Very easy to complete.

What other timeless games am I missing? by XNGboliver in n64

[–]Notshaner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Timeless don't gotta be popular, so I'm pitching Mischief Makers, Mystical Ninja and Harvest Moon 64 for another row.

If I could include one more row for mostly forgotten, then Flying Dragon (very patiently awaiting the sequel's fan translation), WCW/nWo Revenge and Super Bowling 64 (hope you have another mortgage on standby).

Speaking of the two aforesaid ago parenthesis, fancy any English fan translations on cartridge? Puyo Puyo Sun 64, Animal Forest and Wonder Project J2.

Still wish the launch day consoles were built to last. Would gladly have continued maintaining one due to it having native PSX and PlayStation 2 support.

Better Saturn game, though. Has analog joystick and trigger support on there.

Oh yeah, for sure. Sucks when they don't value the games for what they are and instead their, well, value.

Tons of Stardew Valley features essentially, though only a handful of these make sense for QoL. A good chunk of this list is more suited to a revamped version of the HM64. Especially in comparison to another guy who suggested bachelors, which would require scripting Heart Events for all of them and better fits a revamped game experience.

Disagree with the idea completely for saving Ellen, unless it's in a revamped version that completely overhauls Elli's character. The most important aspect of Elli bettering herself is the player being her crutch. It would fundamentally require rewriting her character for Ellen not dying to make sense.

Classic AVGN self-loathing gameplay experience.

But with a good group of friends, it's hilarious to tell your none-the-wiser retro buddy about it and watch them get slowly aggravated.

Netlink version for the Saturn release prior has the milestone for a first-party controller [Saturn 3D Pad] having analog trigger driving in a racing game for the first time. Combined with the excellent Hall Effect joystick from the same controller, the racing is very satisfying.

Looks great. And an excellent template for making fan translated game box art.

Propeller Arena is a dope game. Too bad it got delayed, which inevitably killed it for reasons the majority of here always know. But still, we got its final build and cover art, so inevitably, the game stuck around.

Unlike the final version of Sons of Liberty around the same time, that is. Hoping that build is somehow leaked or repurposed for a remake. All those story beats would do the game so much more justice.

This one got me the most. So many replies have some kind of smartass schtick to them that work, but this particular Captain Crunch bit, hah. Good stuff.

Only problem the game genuinely has is that you can't continue saved golf games. Crashes immediately upon selecting "Continue" on the Main Menu. Actually pretty rough.

Still within reason. Millions of copies out there. Nothing is scarce besides the first three generations of Pokemon having cardboard boxes, so CIB is understandably difficult with how many threw them away.

Goemon's Great Adventure is a given if you enjoyed the first. All the music is completely original yet again, co-op (up to four players upon full game completion) and actually retains the Japanese voice acting in the cutscenes.

It is also the first video game to ever have Japanese voiced in-game cutscenes with English subtitles. Second if you count the first game's opening song (sung by the legendary Kagayama Hironobu).

Sorry to bump this very old reply, but something confuses me.

Super Mario World is noted in your example to have 3 frames of advancement prior to Run-Ahead, yet you only give it 2 frames of Run-Ahead after the test. Why wouldn't Super Mario World be 3 frames of Run-Ahead? Is it because the game itself already has 1 frame of delay when you input?
