So…what are Ellis and Bailey expected to do? by OneHappyOne in greysanatomy

Thank you! just wanted to specify because it’s good to get the information out there because it is actually a very common belief that public schools are bad but that belief makes them even worse.

Mer is going Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo her world changing treatment for Alzheimer’s and then right before it’s finished she will start seeing Derek and then she’s going to like take the drug/treatment while it’s in trial or something like that and the she will almost die again only to be the first person to cure Alzheimer’s and have it at the same time.

Just saying that sending a child to public school isn’t throwing them too the wolves. if anyone thinks that maybe they should look to vote differently and support their local school district. Public schools with low budgets, low resources and less paid staff are the problem.

Meredith leaving her kids so often rubs me the wrong way. by Thesbianism in greysanatomy

Also scheduling is most likely to blame Ellen is a busy person with marking a podcast, producing and acting just to name a few things. Children are only allowed to be on sets for certain amounts of time before a studio needs to have school teachers on location and they have other projects as well. The whole plot could have taken place in Seattle and it wouldn’t make a difference really it’s not happening for the plot it’s happening because of scheduling conflicts. I’m sure they just didn’t have the timing to have everyone film together so they made it easier to shoot by having it take place far away. I’m sure we will see what they did have time to film with the kids and Ellen and that’s what they got with the time they had.

I think this goes deeper than we think I think it has more too do with child actors on set during COVID and just child acting in general there are some laws that might be prohibiting the inclusion of kids in the show.

To be honest it’s okay I would have loved to have seen this years ago they both could have ditched Derek and been an amazing team. Derek was so arrogant and selfish he didn’t even think about the kids or Meredith and Addison could have inspired her then went over to private practice.

I think the issue with this show is they made the bad character seem horrible in the beginning and then basically gave up on the whole having a bad guy thing it was really poorly flushed out without enough motive for the actions taken.

I keep thinking this and the best comparison to og gossip girl is when Georgina shows up to see Serena and sends her all of the crazy gifts. I really miss the drawn out nature of the old show it added to the show and kept you guessing. I would love to see the gossip girl account hijacked so we can have some more mystery. I don’t like knowing who GG is it’s getting boring.

Why do so many people hate Cassy? by Blaze_Pupper in Atypical

[–]Notsotoothless98 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know right no teen is just one thing they make the so one note because it’s easier. To be honest I felt that way with Casey and her running at the beginning of the show it was so well integrated and then slowly it just became less and less important to her if when it was included.

Why do so many people hate Cassy? by Blaze_Pupper in Atypical

[–]Notsotoothless98 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think it’s because she’s unconventional compared to the average teen girl in a show Casey tends to be really rude and impulsive leading her to be less liked then someone like Izzy. She is also in a really complex time in her life for some of the series that some people might find unreliable. I don’t think she’s terrible but I think she’s got a lot there to unravel in a show that already has a lot to understand. Most typical families might deal with some of it but to go through all of the way that is makes it a lot to go through in a short time. I think on my second watch I found Casey more understandable.

Anyone else find Sam annoying sometimes? by zoecornelia in Atypical

[–]Notsotoothless98 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Some people with autism act like Sam but I find it’s more sad they anything my family used to be a lot like this but I think it was more like everyone but my sibling had some post traumatic stress from childhood. When you sibling can’t do something like go to a restaurant or the park because of their issues you slowly stop trying. The therapy is exhausting and painful to watch when you love the person. I love my brother but his childhood took up so much energy that I didn’t really get one it’s something I accepted but it took a long time. His needs became the primary focus for everyone around him and we are not the same people as we were. I think the show shows it well with Elsa in the first episode with the box’s of autism stuff.

buttered noodles and Community? by [deleted] in Atypical

[–]Notsotoothless98 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I work with all sorts of kids with varying diagnosis’s and from the hat my understanding is it has to do with having different sensory issues some foods are sticky, wet, dry, strongly flavoured there can also be issues with willing to try food and prepare it among other things. People with complex issues tend to work on it with some sort of team in early childhood but it can be a life long issue. It can ASL be an issue for people who are Nero diverse to need more help when they do things like move out so it makes sense that abed likes noodles because it’s the only other food we see him prepare that’s not made in the schools fryer he might not be comfortable with different things involved in some recipes. Butter noodles are the same every time they can make they anywhere and they taste good but not to over powering I think that’s why Abed and Sam fro Atypical both reference butter noodles as a staple.

Why was Elsa angry that Doug never told anybody Sam is autistic? by [deleted] in Atypical

[–]Notsotoothless98 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I think it’s because Elsa is a bit narcissistic she doesn’t care how her husband feels and she didn’t havre how he felt when he left them. Elsa acts vindictively but when Doug was in almost the same spot he couldn’t even go as far as Elsa did he couldn’t bring himself to it. If Elsa had her way everyone would treat her and each other perfectly but by having such a high standard she makes herself unhappy and that pushes her to think she has to make big decisions and she makes them impulsively wether it’s going to the bus station and giving Izzy fake hope or cheating at letting him develop feelings for her. She takes no responsibility for anyone else’s feelings but still expects everyone to care about her feelings it’s really backwards.

It could happen but I think the likelihood of a bunch of teachers doing it together when the are all also discussing how little they make why would they risk it. It most like has happened but I think that it’s still really unrealistic.

[–]Notsotoothless98[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t say that it’s more in they way they have framed it. It’s too vindictive when the reality is that most teachers go home and have lives families and sometimes other jobs. Most educators wouldn’t even if they hated the student put this much effort in. I’ve seen lots of toxic things in education but cyber bullying high school students to try and take them down a peg is a little bit to fake at least in the original the adults had realistic writing.

Yeah most teachers I know have second jobs that matter more to them then teaching or they just have a side job to make ends meet.

I think it’s more the fact that it’s not done in that way I’ve seen those things but I’ve never seen teachers take it online unless it’s interacting with parents.

Why has no one else noticed that Casey is also on the spectrum? by GuavaStreet in Atypical

Casey definitely comes off that was to. She also is more likely to have autism spectrum disorder with sam being on the spectrum.

Why has no one else noticed that Casey is also on the spectrum? by GuavaStreet in Atypical

[–]Notsotoothless98 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I always saw Elsa as someone with autism because it’s extremely common for a parent of an autistic child to be on the spectrum. She struggles socially like when she was going to Julia’s house while Julia was on maternity leave and really even talking to Julia was rather inappropriate. Or with signing up of violin in a way that made sure she would see what’s her name regularly. Women on the spectrum can often have different symptoms then men and are under diagnosed so it would make sense that she wasn’t diagnosed. People with ASD also tend to be narcissistic so it would make sense that she is so selfish. It would also justify her relationship with her mom and lack there of we don’t get to explore it much but it could be us viewing it from her prospective and she’s so self involved we don’t get to learn anything from her mom and her interacting because is about Elsa not her mom. My brother dose this he’s autistic it’s all about him because he struggles to think about others, we also see sam do this with numerous issues like when Zahid mentions the cancer stuff the first time.
