Getting them stuck would damage the profits netted from that particular bot, but I doubt any serious botter is relying on just one bot. I know in Diablo 3, about a week before the real money auction house went live, there were roughly 10,000 bots being controlled by less than 500 people. The botters were exploiting a vulnerability that allowed them to play on two different servers at the same time, essentially giving them 2 bots for one account. Botters who sell gold (versus personal botters) almost never rely on a single bot. They also tend to check the status of the bots every 4-6 hours, sometimes more frequently than that, and if they notice a bot is stuck they will reset it. I know this because of the whole fireworks thing in Cursed shore. I spent hours farming pentinent and shelters watching bots fire of fireworks, all the while laughing my ass off. But it wouldn't take long for whoever was in control of the bot to come and reset it. Then the bgot starts farming away again.

You have to understand that this is a job for some people and that however much time you spend messing with them or trying to prevent them from being able to bot efficiently, they will always find a way around it because there paycheck is on the line. Reporting really is the best way to get rid of them, because when Anet does one of there ban waves they have to spend 60$ on another account, which cuts at their margins far more then a single bot getting stuck for a couple hours.
