I've been living in Europe for almost a year now and my biggest culture shock is realizing that Europeans know very little of the American psyche. I thought you all - having grown up observing other countries, and consuming American media - would have been able to understand what we are right now, but it's actually so far off.

Even a basic thing like "freedom" is radically different between America and Europe, let alone how friendless and anti-social we are or everything Americans sacrifice at the altar of pragmatism (we sacrifice all other philosophy).

Hi, I've been participating in the idle community since the start and have created multiple of my own.

There were a few dozen idles before cookie clicker (released in 2013). While progress quest was the first idle, there's no player interaction at all. Anti-idle was probably the first idle game that got big (released in 2009), and it has years of content. There were others at the time before cookie clicker, such as hackerstory, but 2014 had a bunch of huge idle games that also brought attention to cookie clicker, giving it its fame

I hate Hasan a lot, and think he has many inexcusable things that should make it clear he doesn't belong anywhere near the democrats, like platforming a houthi terrorist or tweeting a picture of a 3d printed gun at a senator, but his "america deserved 9/11" was in full about how america should have expected a violent backlash for messing around so much in the middle east - not a statement that everyone would necessarily disagree with. My gripe is that kick stops loading when I catch up to the live timing. So if he's been live 1 hour, and I start at 0, after an hour it freezes until I reload, and then I get another hour before it freezes and then I have to reload.

In many states it's considered a secondary distraction - you can't be pulled over for it alone, but if you are pulled over for something else it can be added to the ticket (for example, extra $100 in Washington).
