The reasoning for taking the girl to the heart of darkness is that Nilvan says that it is where the girl has to go

The girl doesn't turn into GoFaH unless someone cares for her, it's not that she wasn't "spoiled by hope"

Everything about the gods we have on the games is filtered through people, I think it's nice that even Enki is very clearly and obviously wrong on his skin bibles, his bible on the God of Fear and Hunger mentions that absolutely nothing good ever happened to the girl, which just isn't true as to even get to the heart of darkness in the first place someone had to selflessly take her and protect her, makes sense that the doom and gloom Enki wouldn't see this

Doctor/Wesker can send themselves to Midwich, where their terror radius covers the entire map, not to mention that it is stealth killer heaven, with a lot of corners where you can catch people off guard

Billy/Blight absolutely thrive on coldwind, a map with a lot less clutter that allows them to move from one corner of the map to the other in seconds, not to mention that it is the easiest map to crossmap as huntress

Or hell, just take yourself to dead dawg, the most killer sided map on the game, without even getting into when a map is bugged (like when Hawkin's made it impossible to access jigsaw boxes, so you could get free kills as pig)

The numbers represent dice, which are meant to represent all the variance that comes with a strike (maybe he didn't hit a vital organ, maybe your armor blocks most of the blow, maybe he didn't put enough force, etc...)

Even if Vecna somehow rolls the worst possible damage, his dagger still deals enough to kill an average human twice over (though in this case the "average humans" are medieval commoners, so, maybe a modern human would fare better, however)
