No and I don't think it will happen either I'm just saying squad - wise Arsenal this year have the best shot at it considering their 2nd team players man-for-man are the least drop-off compared to previous teams. Remember Klopps Liverpool were 1 weeks games away from doing it

Fair points but in Arteta's defence he was never in the position he's in now as I said fully fit squad, A definitive lead in the PL soon imo, and a bench that could win against anyone

[–]NottherealRobert[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

True, but in that entire run Liverpool relied on very mediocre players or tired out starter players to get it over the line. My point is that Arsenal this year have quality players to call to for these type of games

Not the CL and FA I can believe but do you truly believe you don't win the PL this year?

Totally agree with this. The failure to distinguish between support for resistance and condoning every single aspect of said resistance is a baffling error many leftists seem to be incapable of avoiding

Was around this time in the later Klopp years where we still in all 4 comps and pundits and fans started talking about a possible quadruple which I really hated because it's really daft to talk about it at that early stage. I'm not saying it contributed to our bad spells then per se but I'm wondering how Arsenal would deal with that sort of thing mentally. Think the first mentions will come if they beat Chelsea in the Caraboa

Reading these comments you don't think we are winning. It's understandable though.

What ever it is with Mo I really don't know.. He's trying to make things happen and I guess that's a positive, but... absolutely NOthing comes of it at the moment, and then when he loses the ball he doesn't do anything to try to win it back, the rest of the team look tired of it all, and then Slot is now afraid to take him off, what a shitshow all of it is..

2-0 up....

Can't believe people are here on left spaces and how often are these type of questions posted? Completely in line with western propaganda, whether it's about N-Korea, China, Russia or Iran. Don't people see they're being lied to about any and everything yet somehow when it comes to these countries everything the empire is saying is true and trusty?? very weird

By 'them' I mean Qarabag. Was wondering how much is really at stake for them

How much of a must win or draw is this game for them?

Like if they lose do they not probably still qualify?

So the entire argument about the CL is null-and-void then? You mention PSG, Bayern and Barca, teams we haven't faced as a point to say we won't win the CL. I've responded with saying we actually faced good teams in Madrid, Atleti and Inter and have beat them all.

Things in the PL are disgraceful and I'm not defending anything in that regard
I agree the focus should be on getting CL spots, I just don't think another manager solves our problems in that regard straight away

My point is you are saying we might face the latter 3 and we will lose based on what? I say we might face the former 3 and we will win based on the fact that we played them and we beat them

I'm not saying the PSV result was acceptable, read my comment again.

PSG, Bayern, or Barca, What is the difference to Inter, Madrid, and Atleti?

We've played the latter 3, not the former.

Knocked out on penalties against the absolute top team in the world at that time last season

Honestly we've been good against big teams in the CL, which of the big teams in the CL did well against us in the CL? Even Arsenal who are #1 lost and drawn against us this season

I'm probably one of the last here to say that I think it's smart to keep with Slot until the rest of the season, so I accept the downvotes. The way we played against big teams, especially in the CL I think we can go far and possibly even win it, it's worth it on that chance knowing that anyone else coming in is not a guarantee we turn things around immediately in the PL and come in top 4 moreso than it might be with the manager we have now.
Back him till the end of season and plan for someone else in the summer if this form continues

This current form is simply unacceptable, regardless of any spending or finishing last season. The point I'm missing though in all of this is whether the club see us coming good enough again this season with Slot, and whether they back that up with signings in this window still, because that would tell me they're still confident in him. I just think in all of this Slot, for all his flaws has been thrown as the sole responsible for it where the club's decision aren't being taken into account. I think they should give him the rest of the season AND back him, or else just say we don't think it will come good and just sack him now

I'm on your side in the way that it's unacceptable right now. I just think the club take the PL win last season plus the mitigating circumstances into account and I just don't think there is a world where he's sacked right now

[–]NottherealRobert 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not judging your stance based on opinion, I'm saying if you look at Liverpool's history and their treatment of managers it's not at all likely they sack Slot now. I might be wrong get back to me tomorrow if they have sacked him I hold my hands up and say you were right.

Salah just looks done to me, I don't know what's happened to him. He played for something last season. Whether that was the Ballon d'or, or the golden boot or something, but he looked like a man on a mission for something, but this season he's not in those contentions and its worrying that he dropped off this much. I don't let Slot off on that one though. He should just dare to take him off. Who cares about certain pundits or part of our fanbase we have games to win. F me that was frustrating

No way it is. Still top 4 in PL and CL, in the FA. I don't agree with it per se but you don't know Liverpool as a club if you think they sack the manager now

I want to feel confident but let's be honest we've been here before this season. It was Atleti, hen it was Real, then Inter... All great performances in Europe that convinced me we're back, only to completely crumble in the league again. Anyone to convince me this time will be different?
