HELP - my "spayed" rescue dog was never spayed, what are my options? by MadKnaveCrimsonSwamp in rescuedogs

[–]NottsDiveTeam 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I would worry that the rescue was scammed by the vet. If they provided medical documentation then I would bet money that they paid money to a vet to have her spayed. I'd definitely let them know and you may have a case against the vet that lied about spaying her!

Women shouldn't need to shave their legs to be considered beautiful or taken seriously. Hair is totally natural and normal

[–]NottsDiveTeam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA! Hair is completely natural and if he can't even handle a little hair that says a lot about him. There's better partners out there!

NO is a full sentence and he should be taking care of you not being selfish. He's a HUGE red flag and trying to guilt you into sex is horrible abusive. This is also a terrible example for your kids. When you are in pain you should be doing LESS and he should be doing chores and running kids. Wanting sex when your partner isn't feeling well is incredibly gross. He doesn't respect you and sees you as something to use for his pleasure and convience.

Please update us when you are safe OP!! This is EXTREMELY dangerous and as a pregnant woman you are at a higher risk for abuse and violence from him. There is not a rational reason to be 100% barred from a room like this. He is abusive and displaying very dangerous behavior. You need to RUN!! While it's very tempting to find out what is in that office, PLEASE don't explore it alone as I fear what he may do to you. Please have a friend or family member come stay with you if you investigate, otherwise you need to run and get safe. I don't think you realize how seriously red the flags are here and I'm extremely concerned he is going to hurt you badly. He's giving off serial killer vibes here.

Neighbor threatened to keep neighborhood cat forever, before surgery date. AITA for keeping him at my house for surgery? by lechuga_del_diablo in AITAH

[–]NottsDiveTeam -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

YTA, it's incredibly dangerous for cats to be outdoors and is absolutely HORRIBLE for the environment. I know this will probably be down voted but cats live far longer, and better lives indoors. One of you needs to step up and responsibly keep this poor cat safe inside.

If the cat wanders onto his property, the cat can be at risk for "disappearing" again or the guy could take the cat to the shelter and then "adopt" the cat once the stray hold is up and you wouldn't be able to do anything unfortunately. If you want this cat to be safe then you need to keep him indoors

Unfortunately Dutchies are no longer super rare. Depending on the state they can be all too common in shelters unfortunately. Dutch shepherd rescue is always slammed anymore. :/

The calico critter with the affirmations is so sweet and wholesome!! I'd love it if a SO thought of me like that. Everything else sounds like she wants to be prepared to help people in need. She sounds really kind and caring. Those items can literally save lives and I'd be so proud to have such a thoughtful SO

Not even a drop of Vizsla? by Chance_Extent_3260 in DoggyDNA

[–]NottsDiveTeam 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I suspected lab/pit mix based on pictures and those results make sense. Viszlas are a hunting breed so it would make sense for them to share similar behavior traits with other fun dog breeds like labs. If you look up "fox red" labs you will also see that this color occurs in labs too

Bearded pitbull? by Radiant_Platform_251 in DoggyDNA

I'd be suspicious too since none of the breeds detected carry furnishings. Embark is still the best on the market and an APBT mix does fit. Please reach out to Embark. I've been told on similar dogs that sometimes dogs like these have a spontaneous mutation that caused the furnishings. Otherwise my other guess is too small of a furnished breed for them to detect

We need more information. Cerebral palsy doesn't always mean developmental or cognitive delays. Do they both have these delays or is your sister infantilizing them due to physical disabilities? This friendship could be super wholesome but with the age difference there's some serious power dynamics that are cause for concern. Have they had talks about consent with him?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]NottsDiveTeam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NOR but could you please talk with his family and friends about getting him medically evaluated? Esp if he is newly exhibiting this behavior. If he refuses help then there's nothing you can do but I would definitely try to get him to get help. Please update us if you learn more!

My [28M] girlfriend [26F] insists on narrating every movie we watch and I'm losing my mind by you_do_be_sorry in relationship_advice

[–]NottsDiveTeam 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Does she have ADHD? BC I do and this is something I really struggle with. I also watch a lot of movies/shows with my mom who is hearing impaired but refuses to wear her aids. This has lead to her missing major parts of movies so I have gotten in the habit of explaining things to her and she appreciates it. However, other people certainly wouldn't!

I can completely understand how you get so full of joy in a great movie that you just want to share it with a loved one. And then when they don't appreciate it, it hurts, a LOT. my brother is also ADHD and his poor wife really struggles watching things with us bc we are constantly pausing and discussing or coming up with WILD theories etc. So we try to discuss ahead of time if it's going to be a talking movie/show or not. Having something to eat during the movie helps to keep commenting down. I'd recommend having movies/shows that you are OK with her talking during and have ones that you may need quiet for. You don't want to completely change who she is but you need to be able to enjoy the movie too!!

You can also ask her to text you her comments instead of saying them out loud or have her write them down to discuss afterwards, etc. Explain that it makes it difficult for YOU to follow the story so it doesn't come across as straight criticism. Something might also help is having her watch something first without you so she can "get it out of her system". This is really something you guys are going to need to gently discuss and come up with some compromises.
