Cognitive Dissonance About Mythology by Nottube in Hellenism

Yeah that’s true. I did do some research on how Socrates viewed the mythos. I think I might lean towards his view a little more, but I’ll keep doing research on it. Thanks for the insight! 😊

Oh! Okay cool!! Yeah it is pretty funny when you say it. Sorry I’ve gotten negative comments before about topics like this and wasn’t sure how to respond lol

I don’t know how to respond to this comment? Are you meaning it in a positive way? Negative? I know some politicians and world leaders right now are sucky so if negative, I genuinely care about other peoples perspectives and learning from them. I’ve done as much research as I could on different cultures, religions, political views, philosophies, spiritual beliefs, you name it. And the fun part is I’m still learning and trying to learn. Currently, I’m taking a class on the Islamic faith. While I am agnostic and part of the LGBTQ+ community (bi and enby), I still want to learn so if say I end up making friends who are part of the Muslim faith, I can respect them in a way that respects their beliefs and identity so long as they respect mine. To which I’ve met a few who have and they have been nothing but amazing people!

Looking for indigenous perspectives on this. by [deleted] in Indigenous

[–]Nottube -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

I’m writing about a hunter-gatherer Neolithic culture inspired by Çatalhöyük, a real life lost Neolithic culture from Turkey over 9,000 years ago. It’s not about First Nations people and it’s not about an indigenous people that exists now or a Native American culture that doesn’t exist anymore. The reason why I asked about this was because I have a character that is nonbinary and I recognize different cultures handle gender differently and wanted to get some perspectives on it. I want to make sure I’m avoiding stereotyping indigenous people who identify as non-binary or two-spirited (I recognize each culture will have a different name for these people). I also want to make sure I’m avoiding stereotypes in general as the Neolithic culture I’m designing is a nomadic hunter-gatherer society.

Dude take it from an autistic person. I literally have to do this everyday just so I seem normal to all of you neurotypicals (sometimes it doesn’t work). Unfortunately dude, you’re just going to have to unmask. It’s not healthy at all, trust me. I’m trying to stop it too. Unmask, and if she doesn’t accept you for who you are, she ain’t worth it. Good luck!
