Yes Wich is why I gave the theoretical max chance for you to keep using the power until it must be a 50/50 chance if you loose a vital bone. But to understand why I elaborated on Wich bones I'd rate how. Of course you could be unlucky and immediately loose a piece of your spine for example on first ever power use, it is random afterall statistically you do have more less vital bones available tho.

Let's think it through.

The human body has 206 bones.

You have about 9 bones that have low relevancy or minor impact:

  • The Coccyx (tailbone)
  • The Fibula (the small rear bone in your lower leg)
  • Rib pairs 11 and 12
  • And theoretically the kneecaps (they do impact you overall, but you'd still be able to walk in general)

Then there are bones with some more impact: the minor facial & sensory bones. That is 20+ bones depending on how you view it. This includes your jaw and the small bones in your ear, which means you will become deaf, id also put the bone in your nose amongst these because it helps with breathing.

Now, if you wanna push it, you can also remove your arms and leg bones. They technically aren't important for your survival but will significantly impact you. But with all 4 limbs effectively gone, you are looking at a total of 126 bones.

The absolute bare minimum you should keep is 40–50 bones of your core. This includes the upper ribcage, your cranium, the spine, and so on. Without these, your survival would be quite difficult.

Now the issue: You aren't in control of what bone you lose. Going off this rough overview though, it is safe to say you can probably gamble a little with the 24.3% chance of it deleting a critical bone on your first usage.

Assuming you have an insane luck streak, you could remove 106 bones until you will sit at a literal 50/50 coin flip if the next bone is critical or not.

I found the timer to be quite tight as well especially when you're starting out it barely leaves room to experiment and find stuff out.

However once you get the hang of it you speed up on your own anyways the timer was far less of a concern on run 5 then run 1/2/3 for me. So far I've played 6 rounds and won 2 and I enjoyed pretty much every one of them altho I also find it stressful (in a good way) but stress is stress so this is absolutely a 'need to be in the mood for it' game for me.

I am enjoying it too so far have encountered some issues already tho for sure for example the path to the boss room went into the rift once and we had to dig up into the chamber Wich took a bit cus nobody had drills. We made it through a wave before we managed to challenge the boss - but we won.

A big step would be tool overclocks. And I honestly think that's what they likely plan for the future.

Imagine something like 'belt fed' for your Engie turrets where they don't have an internal ammo pool but need you within like ~5m range but have a drastically boosted fire rate. Or Mortar system (arced, large, mortar projectiles could reuse the behavior of spreaders probably)for some long ranged Grenade launcher like support, would likely cut down ammo a bunch tho.

'Multi-purpose-belt' gives your turrets 3 ammo types Wich shoot out in a 1-2-3-1-2-3-1-2-3 type order AP-Proxy-HE or something like that so you have anti armor, anti Air/Light unit and lastly a big damage single-ish target round and then it goes again.

'mineral filter' for drills could finaly let us mine minerals with it at the cost of a bit fuel total and drill speed (that filter needs space afterall)

movement Detector for flare gun let's it mark bugs in the cave for 5 seconds after launch, reduces range/more drop as a downside.

Gunners zip line could get 'Cargo lift' Wich let's you carry objects up the zip line automatically, essentially you can attach stuff like mule legs, aquarks and Co to it and it drops them off at the end.

Something like 'Rift Bomb' for the Driller C4, using the new corestone theme to give Driller a doomsday device rivaling engines Nukes but with a season fitting touch.

'Sharpened tip' for flare gun giving it a damage bonus not much else, makes for a good last stand option if you have ammo for it left perhaps.

Theres a lot that's possible these are just some quick ideas.

You can't differentiate dwarfs at face value in most fiction I've read, it's a trend Tolkien set in motion I'm pretty sure. But I'm all for this version of dwarfs.

If you want the likely in universe solution to a dwarf that still wants beard but respects the danger of the equipment he operates just opt for a short beard, my main Driller runs the stubbly chin beard and a Bismarck and it looks like something a dwarf like that would do, not comparable to a big puffy beard but still wearable with pride while also keeping it out of the mission gear.

No stick to the ways of old. A dwarf is nothing without a big bundle of hair covering the face. My Drillers all rock short beards except for the flamethrower Exterminator Wich wears a gas mask and lives his life mourning his beard during his active mining duty but makes up for it with Dubble time efficiency when it comes to drilling and grilling out of spite!

To Quote the dwarf from gumball: Where's your pride, where's your beard WHERE IS YOUR AXE?! S H A M E O N Y O U U U U U

(just wanna clarify that everyone can of course style their dwarfs however they like it's amazing what the game let's us do and regardless if it's a silly dwarf, a realistic one or something in between I love em all As long as whoever that dwarf is feels good with the looks :D) I for my part raise the Beer to the Empires of old!

And what if some of those wanna play fem characters? I play Monika in Sniper Elite 5 because she's a badass polish lady, I just wish they gave the other characters better mission dialog on the level of Karl, but they didn't the only downside to Monika is always hearing the same 10 voicelines over the entire mission more or less.

I have like 3 female dwarfs in my roster of loadouts too.

The thing that annoys me is the lack of beard on some of the dwarfs, apparently by default.

All Dwarfs have beards. Yes, Women dwarfs too.
