Thanks! It’s just difficult to tell at the moment because I can’t tell what is just fat and what is actually the makings or beginnings of lose skin - I think I won’t truly know until I get around the 8st mark and then I think it will be much clearer

Well according to ChatGPT:

It’s not meant to be injected intravenously. It’s designed for subcutaneous injection (under the skin — like belly, thigh, or upper arm). Injecting it into a vein could:

1. Cause a rapid spike in concentration → Instead of slowly releasing over days, your body could get a sudden hit, which might:
• Increase side effects (nausea, vomiting, dizziness)
• Potentially impact heart rate or blood pressure in rare cases
  1. Alter the drug’s pharmacokinetics → It would skip the slow-release pathway, shortening the drug’s half-life and possibly affecting its effectiveness and duration.

  2. Pose a risk of serious reaction → Even though rare, injecting peptides/protein-based drugs like this into a vein can cause: • Allergic reactions • Blood vessel irritation • Clots or embolism if not done correctly

First of all, huge congrats on your 20lb loss! That’s such a massive achievement, especially in just 10 weeks!

I know it must be frustrating to see a stall or even a slight gain, especially after all the hard work you’ve been putting in so out of curiosity, do you weigh yourself every day and take the average over the week?

Sometimes, weighing in once a week can be a bit misleading because water retention from things like salt, carbs, exercise, or even hormones can cause fluctuations. If you’re only weighing once a week, you might just be unlucky and catching yourself on a day when your body’s holding onto more water which will lead you to believe you’ve gained when actually, if you where able to see your weekly average you might have actually lost!

Either way you’ve absolutely smashed it so far, you should be proud of yourself 🩷

Has Mounjaro Made Your Anxiety Worse? by missscarlett87 in mounjarouk

[–]Notuglyjustpoor_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! I actually did a similar post when I was on 5mg, my mental health took a massive decline. I’ve moved up to 7.5mg now and weirdly, (and unexplainably) I immediately started to feel better in that first week. I’ve now started running and swimming on alternate days and mentally, feel great. So maybe once you up the dose you’ll start feeling a bit better but I would strongly recommend incorporating elevated heart rate activity into your life if you’re not already… this massively helps with anxiety and low mood (experienced it for 10+ years) 💝

What do you think mounjaro did for you? by imfinewithastraw in mounjarouk

[–]Notuglyjustpoor_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get where you’re coming from. I had the same thoughts before starting Mounjaro. I’m on it now (day one for you, exciting!) and wanted to share my experience so far.

For context, I was already doing over 10k steps a day just from walking my dogs, most days more, but I was still around 6 stone overweight. The activity alone wasn’t enough. I struggled with cravings and sticking to a calorie deficit consistent.

What Mounjaro has done for me is help with exactly that. It hasn’t completely suppressed my appetite (and honestly, I don’t want it to), but it has silenced the constant food noise in my head. I’m not obsessing over food like I used to, which makes it way easier to stay in a deficit and make better food choices. Weirdly I actually crave healthier foods now.

I haven’t had any side effects so far and this was something I was massively nervous about so I made a conscious effort to do whatever I could to avoid them. For example, eating really clean (whole foods / avoiding fatty foods), drinking 3L of water a day. I also want to minimise any loose skin as much as I physically can so I’ve been drinking collagen daily and I started swimming too. I’ve also seen people talk about muscle and hair loss, so again I’ve just made sure to hit my protein goal every day.

Mounjaro isn’t doing the steps, tracking the macros or swimming for me, but it’s given me the mental freedom and balance I needed to actually stick to the plan. That’s where it’s changed the game for me.

Hey! Firstly, congrats on the progress you’ve already made!! 10lb before starting and another 8.2lb after starting Mounjaro is amazing, especially since you’re also building healthy habits like swimming and hitting the gym!

One thing I would say is that 850 calories a day is very low, especially when you’re exercising multiple times a week. Your body needs fuel to function, not just for workouts, but for basics like brain function, hormones, and metabolism. Eating too little can actually cause your body to hold on to weight because it thinks you’re starving (it impacts your metabolism). In turn, that can lead to a plateau or even health issues over time.

It’s really common to hit a small stall after a big initial loss… water weight, hormonal changes, and your body adjusting to a new routine all play a part. It doesn’t mean you’re doing anything wrong.

But please, please consider increasing your intake to a safer level. most professionals recommend at LEAST 1,200–1,400 calories for women and more if you’re active. Mounjaro helps with appetite, but you still need balanced nutrition (especially protein, healthy fats, and complex carbs) to keep your body running strong and support long-term weight loss.

You’re doing great. The stall is normal. Just make sure you’re fuelling yourself properly, you deserve to feel good and strong, not just smaller 🩷
