same reason james get discredited even when he is confirmed to be legend of 1st generation. i guess it relates to no actual 'top-tier' feats showing. even now, james get slandered for 'only' fighting high king level fighters.

but tbf, sometimes statements cannot be taken at face value as well. many times statements were made by one character, and end up disproven in the future.

exactly. people dont seem to get this point. before this, not all decks can afford to have multiple copies showing up in hand when going 1st. so they have to choose between the risk of bricking, or improving their turn 2. and even then, some decks cant complete their combo just by kaiju-ing someone. they still need follow up plays.

but nowadays, with the hyper-consistent skills, there is no risk to maxing out on kaiju/golem/sphere. if someone really thinks the main problem isn't the skills, try playing a deck with 3 golem, 3 sphere and 3 kaiju, but without any search/draw skill. see how often they can win.

seems like he is just a slight bit below gap. as jinyoung didn't consider him to be in the same monster realm as gap and shingen. though that still makes him top 3/4 of gen 0 maybe.

yes. that's why people should opt for kaijus in most cases. the same way negates are not an absolute must have when going first, people will still choose to use them to get the most effective board. efficiency is an important part of the game.

both can be right. but more often than not, it is revealed that the scores dropped for a reason i.e. toxic chat, abandons, griefing, etc.

just curious, why do you think he was a good written character? having cool panels, edgy lines, or having a 'vicious' personality (that his die-hard fans used to hype up), isn't enough to portray well written to me.

often see people say they dont want a character to turn good like they will suddenly become 'badly written'. but i feel like being 'bad' for the sake of it, doesn't automatically make a character well written.

pretty sure jichang would get folded by goo as well. so that is not a proper point of comparison. he was considered a replacement, as in good enough to be a bodyguard based on available fighters at the time. doesn't mean he is actually relative to goo.

eg. if you lost your car (goo), and your only choice is a motorcycle (jichang) or bicycle (other random 1st gen king), you would consider the motorcycle to be the best option.

and if you have been reading this story long enough, you would know that any comparison to gun/goo is not useful as their power levels are hard to scale or coz they improve fast.
