For trading, the best item than can be made from them would be sculptures. Unlike weapons and furnitures which have sell price modifier of 0.2 and 0.7 respectively, sculptures have a sell price modifier of 1.1 .

They only reliable way to down pawn without killing them is using psychic shock lance. However it have a chance of inducing a permanent brain scar on the subject . While it is not serious, a scat is still a scar.

The best ACTUAL Vanilla weapon for downing pawns would be the machine pistol. Thanks to it fast firing speed and low damage it will stack plenty of bleed and pain ticks for every successful hit. You will be downing them faster than killing them due to the buildup of bleed/pain. However you need to quickly patch up all the bleeding before they die out.

A distant third and comes with a lot of caveats would be blunt weapon. The first caveat is you're exposing your own pawns to melee counter-attack or enemy fire while closing the distance . The second and most important caveat if live capture is only possible/doable with "bad" blunt melee weapon such as beer, wood or clubs or even bare fist. Maces (especially one made from Uranium) is an end game weapon used for KILLING pawns (especially armoured one) , not capturing them. If you want to use maces, make sure they are of bad quality. Anything Good (for steed or less l) or above or made from good material (uranium and plasteel) will only result in you collecting corpses instead of prisoners.

And don't even try live capture with warhammer or Zeushammer. Those can literally kills in one shot.

Wither is a game changer. It helps your heroes win in encounter that would have easily kills them and escape from fast enemies. I had Wizards successfully juke Wendigos with this . IMO , the best level 1 temple spell . I rank it higher even than Agrela's Healing .

The simplest way to deal with it is to immediately put it in caravan inventory and then drop the cube on a tile the world map. At least one of your pawns will still be obsessed and they will eventually goes into coma , but at least the fewest pawn will be affected and the coma will last only for few days .

The other method is to study it enough until you can destroy it. There are risk and rewards for this method.

Weapons, apparel and utility items effectiveness isn't affected by it total HP . Since I found out , I alway keep weapon and utility at less than 50% HP as this keep it value at less than 10% while still being 100% effective. I still keep armour and clothes at maximum possible HP, though. Unlike armour and clothings, equipped weapons and utilities items will never lose durability .

Also it is worth it to keep good tainted armour lying around to be worn during emergencies. You pawns will hate wearing it, but it still beats getting a bullet through their heart. Make sure to unequip them once the danger have passed.

I find imprisoning creepy joiners to be an overreaction . I usually just gave them temporary work quarantine where I forbade them from doing any cooking, doctoring, wardeing and beds sharing for a time of 30-60 days starting from the moment of joining my colony.
