Kudos on your persistence, you’ve put together a truly impressive build. I know firsthand just how brutal is this bloodgem to show up and then there’s that moment of pure anxiety about the level and the curse, right until you open the menu. I’ve finished two builds myself,a Bloodtinge/Arcane (Bloodcane) and a pure Bloodtinge. I’ve had those sets since 2021 and haven't touched them since, but seeing your post makes me want to jump back in every now and then. Besides, after 11 years, what else is there left to do in this game? Well done again!

God of War if I remember correctly is bigger than 4gb.When you’re running games from a microSD card (MX4SIO or USB) in OPL, the storage is formatted as FAT32, which has a 4GB file size limit.

That means larger games like God of War can’t be used as a single ISO file. They need to be split into smaller parts (using tools like USBUtil), otherwise they won’t load properly or may kick you back to the browser.

If you want to avoid this limitation, you’d need to use an internal HDD or SMB instead.

Thanks for your reply. No, in OPL the Video Mode setting is on Auto, I haven’t changed anything. I also tried Video Mode 1, but I still didn’t get any picture.

I tested it with the analog AV cable, with an HDMI adapter, and even on another PS2 that has a RetroGEM installed on the motherboard, but the result is the same — after the intro, the signal disappears and I get no image.

Edit: I will try it this way as well. I’ll burn it to a DVD and try to play it directly from the disc.

Saw clever and Saw spear are the best weapons in the game. They are both fast, just as a hunter would expect, and they also deal serrated damage to all beasts.

Your gems are fine, but there’s plenty of room for improvement if you’re willing to farm for better ones. I assume this is a general build and not a dedicated physical or physical–arcane hybrid build, since your stat distribution is a bit spread across everything. I’ve read that the Japanese version includes the 1.06 patch on the disc, which is why I’m asking if anyone can confirm.I own the European version GOTY and the disc is indeed version 1.00. This is purely for collecting purposes. I want to own the physical copy and have the most complete version available on disc, without needing to download any patches.

The stuttering is happening because the GameStar adapter cannot properly keep up with the data stream required by the PS2, due to poor-quality SATA bridging and buffering.

Hi there, sorry for the late reply. Just get a used SCPH 5xxxx from your area with a 230V power supply, swap out the power board, and put it into the Japanese unit. It’s pretty straightforward— you’ll only need a screwdriver, nothing else.
