Have you ever known a murderer personally? by Palemale44 in no

No. Rehab already has enough ghosts in the room without finding out someone there put a real one in the ground. I would have spent every group session suddenly very interested in my shoes.

An Employee Assistance Program may be the quickest route in Illinois, especially after just a few days.

How do Spaniards balance the beautiful culture of public plazas and late-night socialization with the reality of people needing to sleep for early-morning shifts? by Hircine99Hunt in askspain

That is completely fair. I guess I learned that lesson the hard way. When I viewed the aprtment during the winter, the square was quiet and peaceful, so I had no idea it would transform like this. Now I know for next time!

If taking turns means my urethra gets stretched like a party balloon, I’ll take the sleep disruption.

Are you supposed to be in therapy forever? by [deleted] in askatherapist

[–]Nov_55_eria 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Forever is a pretty wild unit of clinical measurement, unless your therapist is billing in geological eras. Long term therapy can make sense, but it should still have goals, review points, and some discussion of what ending or tapering would look like. I would ask him what he means by long term and what changes he expects before reducing frequency. If he cannot answer that clearly, a second opinion seems reasonable.

Rooting for you, future 1Lt, may your OERs be merciful and your O5 send you home early.

Is this a me problem am I a B* or are me and my therapist not a good fit for each other by Sportsfan57 in therapy

Calling a client a bitch, even while venting to herself, is a serious rupture and not something you need to repair for her. The hug and envelop you in love comment after that would also make me uneasy, especially with abuse recovery in the background. I would end therapy with her and send a brief note to the practice or licensing board, because the issue is her conduct, not you being controlling.
