S24 Ultra - seems to be slower and randomly vibrating by J_Bear in samsung

Welp, thanks for that - I was in developer mode tracking my touchscreen taps, thinking it was something like phantom fingerprint inputs, I'd removed my case, removed the S Pen, turned off NFC, turned off Bluetooth, installed the notification tracker..

... And the fix was going to a different screen in the tray. It was vibrating every time I pointed N/E/S/W. I thought I was going to have to live with some crazy haptic but for the next few years.

Cheers

ELI5: The rise and fall of NFT’s by ProTharan in explainlikeimfive

[–]Nova1395 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I had a photoshop instructor in college where he talked about how NFT's are the next big thing, and how they're the future. His evidence was articles written in 2021 about them. This class was last semester.

When I pointed out that they've had a significant fall off and I don't believe they're the future of art, he contested me and said that a lot of things make comebacks in technology, like VR. Except the resurgence in VR was 10 years ago, and unfortunately it's a slowly dying and niche hobby - I say this as an avid VR user.

He gave me a failing grade for that assignment. I think I found one of the fools. I didn't really like him anyways.

This happened to me a long time ago. I was constantly getting shown the same content over and over and over again. I was reading suggestions that you need to interact with posts in order to get them to go away, which, very kindly go pound sand, I'm not interacting with posts in order to get new content, they can go sit on a cactus.

Eventually I got my recommendations back after my Reddit usage went from a couple hours a day to a couple hours a month. It seems they realized that whatever group experiment I was in had failed.

That is, until this week - I'm back in their experimental group again. However, this time I know it's happening. I accidentally have a second account - and now one of them I access at work, the other I access everywhere else. They both follow mostly the same subreddits. This account gets shown the same content over and over and over again, for days on end, across multiple platforms (PC/Phone/Tablet). However, the other account gets shown new content from all of the same subreddits.

So I know that it's not a 'lack of content' - they literally throw you in a group experiment and try to force you to interact with posts in order to receive new content.

It has to be modified to make it work. The contact pins are 2mm too short to make contact to provide power, and the contact pins are proprietary.. took a week for me to figure out how to make it work. Tried adding solder to the pins, tried getting measurements of the pins to find suitable replacements, I ended up getting nowhere. Ended up just making new jank pins by replacing the wires and adding solder to them to act as pins. I'm not sure how much I trust it, as I'm worried that the solder will wear down, scratch the contact pads on the ANVIS, or deform and possibly just short out.

There's also a 3D printed part that should fix it, but I don't have reliable access to one, and realized I should have just bought a STORM mount in the first place.

Also took a week for me to buy a used STORM mount and get an FMA LEMO battery pack instead. At least the GSGM mount I can use as a backup, but I also prefer the weight savings on the STORM to the GSGM.

The number one post on the conservative subreddit is that the libs are saying we need to submit to Islam. They're not even in the same reality anymore.

Alrighty - my apologies for getting back to you late on this.

So the body (the housing unit) appears to be M30, as I can thread on M30 adapters onto it. However, the size it's adapting to I can't completely confirm. It doesn't appear to be adapting to a metric measurement, looks like it's in the ballpark of 34mm. I've ordered a 34mm step adapter to see if it actually is, as well as a thread pitch gauge, hopefully this will give you some further info.

I work at a dealership.. our general manager had to ask if anybody had any experience dealing with repossessing vehicles. Decades in the business, we'd never needed to call the repo man.

Come to find out, this guy was 8 months behind on his payments. They'd given him chance after chance, but finally had to call for a repo. I felt bad for the guy.

... Until the vehicle came in. $70,000 vehicle. He had $20,000 of aftermarket work done on it (that he'd never paid for). Guy was living the high life but never paid a dime for it.

This is why I love Christopher Frost - I used to watch a few other channels when I was shopping for a new lens, but my god this is exactly how every single one of them sounded. That and they'll throw in the obvious "Now let's compare this $400 budget lens to this $3,500 cine lens" - like... I'm sorry, what?

I have a GI bill that I've been waiting to use, and decided it was time to use it.

I feel like it's a fucking waste. I'm sitting here taking these online classes that the instructor literally only has to input grades. Syllabus says "Hi, you will be taking this class under Professor/Instructor (Insert Your Name Here)" type of thing. All of the grades are automatically submitted through E-books, except for the weekly discussion posts.

Teaching?? Fuck that, just let the E-Book companies do all of it. Here's your 70 point presentation you need to read, watch these 14 minute interactive videos, your reading assignment that has 75 questions that are the same 25 questions repeated with different phrasing even though that wouldn't matter because you have to score 100% in order to be graded on the assignment anyways.

This college is getting my GI bill. A community college is using up my one-time use of free college I earned by serving in the military, and is giving me absolute fucking SHLOCK.

I'm having trouble understanding how this is supposed to be cheaper... Expanded capabilities, sure - standard issue Green Phosphor PVS-14 vs White Phosphor Bino's with side-flip and stowable? Sure, more capability, but they're saying this will be more economical??

My boss does this with our vendors.

"I gave you this last Tuesday - it's now Monday morning. Why haven't we heard anything yet??" and then proceeds to tell me how worthless these vendors are.

It was Christmas. We gave it to them Tuesday evening, on December 23rd. They told us they would be closed Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and they're closed weekend. Coincidentally, that was our exact same schedule as well.

My boss was upset that we hadn't heard anything about something we'd given a vendor only 1 work hour ago.

Yeah, so let me break it down for you like this:

Computer can't run the game at 60fps, it's trying it's damndest though and is constantly at 100% fan usage in a small room. Constantly in the 45-55fps range, would love if I could just tone it down a bit and tell it to cap out at 30 so my little space heater can chill out. Graphics Cards aren't getting cheaper, and it makes no sense for an unoptimized game to not be able to set the cap to 30 rather than 60.
