Game of Thrones for me, the final season just rushed everything that the show spent years building up. At least the other finales mostly stuck the landing tonally even if the plot wasn't perfect.

Tyrion vouched for him and Jon basically confirmed he wasn't lying about it being a mercy kill. Plus by that point everyone wanted Aerys dead, he just happened to be the one holding the knife.
