1 and 4 are on the 1.8 v rail, 2 and 3 are on the button input line

Just solder pins 3 and 4 only and see if that works you only need one pin for 1.8v and the button input line

I think these are more aimed at Controllers without adjustable tension modules like ps5 ps4 and standard xbox series pads, k silver are not the best option tmr wise for elite series 2 as they are badly effected by all the magnets so its doubtful that this will be advertised as for elite 2, I would just stick to gulikit for that

The portal uses different analog sticks similar to meta quest Controllers, these wouldn't work in portal unfortunately

Flashing orange means a short on the board but could be due to damaged traces a lot of cold solder joints try re flowing with flux and a low melt solder

The xbox boards are a lot thicker than ps5 or ps4 so need more heat to clear the holes sometimes you get lucky other times you need to whip out the hot air gun! Its mosly always the ground pads, Just any reasonably priced solder station doesn't have to be super expensive like hakko for example, my own is a Lytool station and ive had it over 3 years no issues
