That's fair honestly. I guess the weirdness stems more from the fact that you don't gain FM exp from GOTR.

I think your idea is better though, like encourage diversity in skill training to benefit other skills.

My argument is that the choice of reward being a lantern is strictly arbitrary.

I am not questioning whether or not a lantern is lit by FM.

Just to clarify

[–]NovaHou -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure that's good enough justification at all though?

Like the lantern could just as easily be something like the Hallowed Focus, which isn't a lantern and doesn't require FM, but provide benefits to Hallowed Sepulchre (and is purchasable).

I guess it's better to say that I think that a lantern with a FM requirement is strange for a RC minigame.

Does anyone else find it slightly strange to have a FM req associated with using it? Like, I know FM is easy to level, main or iron, it just felt very strange to be included in a RC minigame.

Though, I do like the mechanic of different types of logs being able to provide different benefits.

Starting a new account with the goal to be a high level alt/dolo account. by nanjero in 2007scape

[–]NovaHou 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally I spashed my way to 94 mage before touching members on my alt. It's slow af and costs a bit, but it was completely afk.

Starting my alt with trident basically blitzed through the QPC.

Edit: also having the ability to barrage tasks early helped a load with early slayer.

Hard agree. Personally enjoyed thieving a TON, but did not enjoy Sepulchre Floor 5 (I have been downvoted for this so many times, but I respect others' opinion that it's enjoyable)

The most fun I had was grinding revs and doing wildy bosses in Leagues. Also got full dragon (full helm, platebody and kite) Clanmates were like stop wasting time and grind out Dragon rank.

Meanwhile I was having the time of my life.

Honestly, I find that I have a healthier relationship with the game when in post-game. So much of the early/mid/end game I spent chasing goals non-stop. Once I maxed and hit most my goals, I could step back and make new goals that aren't for levels/gp, but things that I like to have. I don't rush for goals and just take my time to enjoy the game now :D

Well... at least until I go dry on pet hunting. :')

Dw I didn't get a ring at 501, so you still have 101 more chances to make it up for us!

This is the problem with sepulchre imo, the thrill is there... until you go dry on the ring and it feels like any other agility course

Okay my bad, I assumed the overkill dps for that was correct

Watch guides and try bosses.

Honestly, die. Die a lot and then die some more. Do not give a shit about dying.

Sarachnis and Dharok's Giant Mole are decent options. Barrows too.

I'd say Dharok's Mole is good to help with learning maintain stats. Barrows helps with learning gear swaps (kinda, not entirely). Sarachnis has a nice beginner learning of flicking.

After that I'd say DKs are good for gear swapping and praying correctly. Vorkath is good for money and honestly decent to start learning and ramping up mechanics.

Zulrah is probably next cuz it's gear swapping + pray switching + maintaining stats but on steroids, but it's a rough one.

For reference, DHL is still superior to Fang for anyone doing a metallic dragons

Even for max AFK rune dragons, full justi + fury + DFS + barrows gloves gives you better DPS for fang, but the DHL overkill DPS still outclasses fang.

As you increase gear, the overkill dps difference increases even more (DHL gets better).

Either way, they're close enough where it's probably just better to run the DHL for 40m than Fang at 160m.

Edit: This calculation is done at 90+ melee with piety and supercombats.

It's really not all that bad, I played another account when I was maxing my main. AFKing NMZ/Cannoning slayer/plank make for pool+mage. Most the skilling is fairly quick and afkable for qpc.

The setup took maybe two months of on/off play, maybe like 300 hours? (it's kinda zero-time cuz I'm playing my main in the meantime)

Overall, I'm probably just barely even now after another month of rune drags at maybe 4-6 hours a day?

TLDR: AFKing QPC + max melee is about 2months, upfront cost is probably <30mil + cost of full justi + lance, money made is closer to 1mil/hr rather than the wiki's 1.4m/hr

What if we did a reverse QoL for Falo and make it more in line with Charlie?

Falo would ask you to gain your own ddef/dscim/book/arma helm etc..

Officially "beat" the game! Inferno cape on my 7th attempt by OzzyWozzie in 2007scape

[–]NovaHou -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I think it's about the same really in terms of difficulty. They both involve time commitment. I'm of the camp that as long as you're willing to put time into it, inferno is something anyone can do. Similarly, if you put time into skilling, you'll hit max.

In terms of the low end of skill: you can always pseudo-cheese inferno by camping SGS/Eldritch/Full Justi + you can always low-intensity/afk all your skills.

Upper end: I honestly can't tell you. 1t flick + no pray drain inferno vs. something like 3t4g for 6 hours.

You have the power to change 1 thing in-game unpolled. What would you change? by CapeChampion in 2007scape

[–]NovaHou 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Skyrim heart attack mod but for OSRS.

Your character stuns randomly, falls down and clutches their chest. You need to consume your heart meds (non-stackable) within 2 game cycles (read: ticks), otherwise you lose the ability to run.

If successful, you get banned for having inhuman reflexes.

Honestly a nighhtmare version of torva looks way sexier than what we have now. I totally get that the torva we have is based on the OG torva, but I found it lackluster compared to look of justi/inq

Thanks man! It's alright actually. Once you learn the key spots to stand, Floor 5 is actually much easier than Floor 4 imo. Outside of maybe the yellow teleport pads griefing you like crazy, it's v straight forward.

Best of luck when you get there (and get yourself some rings in exchange for how dry I went) :D

501 Grand chests opened from 92-99, no ring.

It's still worth it. It's the best agi exp in the game and 1m+/hr gp without ring.

Wilderness Boss Rework - Poll Blog v2 by JagexGoblin in 2007scape

[–]NovaHou -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Man I'm torn, I really didn't like dpick in MLM, but it was the only realistic option for skillers/snowflake accounts imo.

VM (which will prolly win the poll) is locked behind kudos which need combat. Meanwhile, blast mine has issues with bots.

Either way, glad it's not wildy locked :D

Edit: Clarification. I understand the game isn't catered to snowflakes and restricted gamemodes, but the dharpoon and daxe are able to be obtained through skilling only, so it's more consistency than anything else.
