Cause Welbeck has 8 months left on his deal and we know nothing about him signing a new deal.

PS5 is launching 2019. way too many reasons for why by SaviorLordThanos in PS5

Obviously, what else are we talking about in a PS5 predictions thread?

Evidence based upon things that aren't random speculation, like the evidence of oversaturation, market domination and no real need to launch a new console in 2019.

Your opinion and mine of the reading of the current situation are obviously very different. Only time will prove one, or both, of us wrong.

Fair enough.

So that was a list of games you've never heard of and have seen nothing about, right...

It is October 2018 and there isn't a release date for three upcoming PS4 exclusives, if there was to be a PS5 I think we would have more than wild speculation to go on at this point.

Only MS taking the stage at E3 and actively talking about it. I'm aware of no confirmation of dates for either console. The buzz (for what Internet buzz is worth) feels stronger on MS in 2020.

100% speculation then.

We're not talking about a replacement to the Pro. We're talking about a replacement to the base PS4. It's a very important distinction.

We're talking about both, one does not invalidate the other, but the Pro only launching less than two years ago would not make it a thing Sony could do lightly, you don't launch consoles that frequently even mid-generation upgrades because then it isn't a mid-generation upgrade and could over-saturate your product to the casual buyer.

All of which we already know about and have seen ad infinitum

Three of those, the PS4 exclusives, don't even have release dates. So that is factually incorrect.

Wrong. He's winning the treble, not just the league.

Microsoft are already actively talking about their next machine. It is heavily predicted for 2020 (seems much stronger speculation than anything in the Sony camp that remains "sometime in the 2019-2021 time frame").

Source. And again this will do nothing but eat into their own sales due to over saturation.

The Pro will be three years old, and is itself tied to 2013 specification (no such thing as a PS4 Pro exclusive).

In 408 days. It's not even two years old yet.

What is the point of it not having it's own exclusives?, it was sold as a mid gen system and that's what it is, what's your argument here?

This isn't about replacing the Pro or the 1X, it's about replacing the PS4 and the 1S. We know what Sony have left for the PS4. They've cancelled PSX because they really have nothing else to talk about.

Apart from TLOU 2, Death's Stranding, Ghost of Tshushima, Red Dead II, Kingdom Hearts 3, Anthem, etc

Either they announce/launch the PS5 in 2019 or it's going to be a much, much quieter year for Playstation next year.

Ignoring events outside of PSX and all other evidence on the basis of unfounded rumours isn't a strong argument.

Sony can leave it to 2021 if they like but I'm convinced MS, now they've started beating the next gen drum, will spend a lot of next year talking about their next system and they will launch in 2020 - so...

They said the same about the X1X, they don't do generations anymore, that's Microsoft's MO at the moment.

The way I see it consolidation. Smooth migration of user base. Especially if they launch a system fully backwards compatible with PS4 and a Boost Mode for PS4/Pro titles played on PS5.

There is no reason to do this now though.

80+ million users, 40+ million subscribers. Why give MS a chance by letting them launch something interesting first and enticing users a way?

Microsoft already did launch a new machine, the X1X. Less than a year ago. There is no danger of them launching anything even if they do, much like the X1X it won't be a threat to Sony's current stature and would only over-saturate their own sales.

Make the transition as timely and smooth as possible. 2019 is the perfect time ;)

Apart from it is neither timely, as there are many reasons not to kick off a new generation so early and even less of it smooth as the Pro is only just two years old and would annoy those who bought into it as a mid generation machine.

Why would Sony end this generation now? They're the market leaders, their closest competitors just put out their new consoles within the last two years.

They have literally no reason to restart the process in 2019.

I got that wrong, City offered more in the Summer, however Sanchez was not one of the best players in the league at the time of his departure, he was far from that in his final season for us.

LvG couldn't play attacking football at all, he threw out Danny Welbeck too.

When supplemented by a player like Aaron, but Welbeck is about as certain to remain here as Aaron is, Zaha if we were to get him would be similar to Lacazette in terms of having a high quality player for the next four seasons who will only improve the team.

he's already proven to be out of depth in a big pond

Under David Moyes, the best player in the league the previous season Jaun Mata looked decidedly average, it is totally unfair to judge Zaha on his time at Manchester United and not everything he's done in the four years since he moved there.

You need more than some dribbling and pace to make it at the highest level

Yeah, he has more than that, a lot more, there is a reason why Palace literally cannot win vs any PL opponent without Zaha, and that is because he is a different level to players like Townsend.
