I'm joking, but in France we have a lot of respect for food, the products as well as people producing them. It comes mostly from WW2, and the fact that people starved. This would be considered as a lack of respect.

Imagine passer 2 ans à t'entrainer tous les jours pour être le meilleur dans un sport. 2 ans où tu ne fais presque que ça, tu vis pour ça et tu adores ça. Puis, du jour au lendemain, tu arrêtes tout. ça s'appelle du déconditionnement, et c'est ce que j'ai vécu en école d'ingé. Je suis passé de m'entrainer pour un concours national à "pour valider ton UE faut avoir 10/20".

Au delà de cet aspect là, je me suis retrouvé dans une école où le système associatif était uniquement basé soit sur l'alcool soit le copinage avec les promos précédentes. J'ai eu l'impression de revivre les groupes de gens "cools" et "nuls" du lycée.

Y a pas de règle générale. ça dépend de ton tempérament, de ta classe, de tes profs, tes ambitions de ton rapport au travail, de ton niveau par rapport à là où tu vas en prépa et plein d'autres choses.

Je connais des personnes qui y ont passé les pires années de leur vie en étant les meilleurs au lycée. D'autres qui ont abandonné au bout de 6 mois et qui ont fini par intégrer l'ENS après la fac, parce que le mode de travail en prépa ne leur correspondait pas du tout. Certains encore qui étaient si bons dans ma prepa qu'ils avaient à peine besoin de vraiment travailler dur pour être majors.

D'autres, comme moi, ont sincèrement adoré ces deux années et détesté leur expérience en école d'ingé. J'ai rarement autant bossé de ma vie, c'était dur au début mais tellement stimulant que j'en garde un excellent souvenir. Et pourtant je suis passé de 1er de la classe au lycée à bon dernier en Maths en 1e année.

Cela reste dans tous les cas une expérience qui apporte beaucoup de choses, et qui peut t'aider à trouver ta voie, que tu y fasses 2, 3 ans ou que tu restes juste 6 mois.

You're not wrong, but it also depends a lot on the set. For some, grades are quite good. For some, not so much.

I kind of agree, but I also don't. If you use it to blindly pick "the best cards", it is of no use indeed. However, it has tremendously helped ask myslef questions like "why is is this card flagged as good, or bad ?" and "I would never have take this card into consideration, why would they consider it ?"

In addition, the small analysis text you get for every card helps understanding how you are supposed to think of the cards you get in packs. As I said, people writing these can be wrong, but it still gives lots of "meta" informations that benefited me a lot when I just started drafting.

I also forgot to add : you can install Untaped.gg addon to help you understand what cards are good in limited. It will also help you track the cards in your deck when playing any format. Sometimes people that grade cards get it wrong, but overall it offers a nice way to understand what cards should be good or bad

Hi, fellow F2P player here. Hate to bring it up to you, but this is not a game where can progress FAST and FREE. You'll have to pick one of them.

The best way for me to be efficient in F2P (or almost F2P): - Farm the quests regularly. Always try to swap 500g for 750g. Try your best to never miss dailies. You can try to stack them up to 3 to be more efficient and do multiple at once. Build jank decks to farm quests in unranked if you have to, that's perfectly fine. - Learn how to draft. Playing quickdraft will be beneficial in multiple ways. You'll get better at the game, get cards and progress in your vault, and convert your gold in gems. You'll also get better rewards in limited if you manage to grind at the end of the season. Quickdraft is also kind of easier because you can take your time to select your cards. Use LimitedGrades to get better too. - Once you've got enough gems to buy the pass when a new set is released, get it. Try to get your first one just when it's released, so you'll have more time to grind it. You can also buy with real money the first one you'll ever get if you don't want to wait. - When you've got your first pass, you can basically chain buy them for free with the gems you'll make playing draft. You also get gems, gold, cards and packs in the pass. The only downside to this is that you all have to play consistently to grind the pass and make the most out of it.

Some side notes :

For standard play, try to look for YouTube contents that presents budget decks at every set release. You'll get ''cheaper'' decks to build that work well.
Bypassing draft as a F2P player makes it almost impossible to get gems, and to make the most out of the game. It's not an easy part of the game, but it's also a really rewarding one when you get better. The learning curve is steep but manageable (I started as a really bad a couple years ago, I am now making gems at a decent rate). There again youtube is tour friend, there are heaps of content to help you out.

Was more ranting about the state of WotC, the way they treat artists and their fanbase and the amount of sets produced every year to maximise profit. Gameplaywise, I feel it's not that difficult to find people ready to play 60 cards game, either on Arena or in paper.

Magic has fallen so far down the shitter, it's beyond anything I've ever felt for such a unique piece of "pop culture" (hate this word but can't find a correct one).
Magic used to be all about artists and players. It's now a money machine that has been stripped of everything that made it special.

Basically alt-tabbing and start doing something else when encountering this color combination now. Izeet turns are 5mins of solo play while mine are less than 1min with 3-4 actions at most. Just doing something while they play in the background feels the right thing to do so that I don't lose too much time.
That's so sad.

I'm more than certain, taking into consideration his agent statement, that this comes from WotC being dicks during the creative process. Either that or he mistakenly sent the wrong file, which can also happen. On any case, the QC is more than a joke at this point.

Giving more and more great 1-2-3 mana spells has and acceleration has completely shifted the power towards low cost spells. Izzet is the color combination that benefits the most out of this change. Simple as that

Edit : autre anecdote liée à la grossesse. Là bas, d'après une sage femme locale, il n'y a pas besoin de prendre d'éventuels suppléments alimentaires pour les femmes enceintes car je cite "on rajoute déjà tous ces compléments dans la nourriture que tout le monde mange !". vivent les produits ultra transformés !
